Two influencers were slammed after they stopped their vehicle on a busy Delhi flyover to make an Instagram Reel, thereby causing traffic logjams and disrupting normal lives.
In a video shared on Instagram, the influencers could be seen getting down from a golden coloured car after parking the vehicle in the middle of a flyover to make an Instagram Reel. An NDTV report said that the incident took place on a flyover near Paschim Vihar near North Delhi during peak traffic hours.
The video saw a lot of user comments, many of whom slammed the influencers for holding up traffic to make the reel. Some users also shared the video on X (formerly Twitter) and tagged Delhi police, urging them to take action against the influencers.
"These things happen every day and they are slapped with fines too, the problem is that they earn much more in terms of following, money, fame etc than the amount they are slapped with. The only sensible thing to do is imprisonment along with hefty fines and impounding of the vehicle. Hope that will put this kind of Nonsense to rest," one user wrote.
"Now, influencers are breaching the code of society, which tends to create chaos and make people uncomfortable," another user wrote.
"Our society will go into doldrums because of these reel makers and influencers. Sincerely urge all sane people to block and move away from these Chapris if you want to live in a good environment," a third user wrote.
This is not the first instance in which Instagram Reels have made the headlines for the wrong reasons.
In September last year, teachers in a school in Uttar Pradesh were accused of forcing students to make Instagram Reels inside the school premises.
