An Indian-origin professional’s routine visit to see his sister at Google’s headquarters in California turned into an unforgettable experience when he came face to face with the company’s chief executive, Sundar Pichai.
The man, identified as Akash Wadawadigi, shared the encounter on social media where he described the moment as a complete surprise. A graduate of Stanford University, Wadawadigi posed for a photograph with his sister and the Google chief at the tech giant’s iconic Mountain View campus.
Posting the picture online, he wrote: “Visited my sister @Google HQ today and ran into the head honcho himself! Mr @sundarpichai, it was a pleasure.”

The post rapidly gained traction and amassed close to 2 lakh views. Internet users flooded the comments section with reactions ranging from congratulations to light-hearted remarks about Pichai’s demeanour.
One person wrote: “Running into Sundar Pichai??? Damn you lucky for sure.” Another added: “This will be a story to tell your grandchildren.”
Others praised the Google leader’s modest personality. “Mr Pichai is an amazing personality, please come back to India,” commented one user.
A fourth social media post made a humorous observation about his understated style: “Why does @sundarpichai always look like he is on his way to a wedding reception, of an acquaintance or a safe-distance relative, happening in Kodambakkam which he is attending.”
Sundar Pichai has been at the helm of Google since 2015 and later assumed the role of chief executive of its parent company, Alphabet. Widely regarded for his humility, his academic journey began with a B.Tech in metallurgical and materials engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). He then completed a Master of Science in engineering and materials science at Stanford University, followed by an MBA at the Wharton School.
Joining Google in 2004, he rose through the ranks before taking charge of the company’s global operations. In his current position, he has overseen strategic shifts towards advanced technologies and artificial intelligence.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Pichai’s net worth was estimated at $1.1 billion.
