Sonal Goel, an IAS officer from the 2008 batch, opened up about a cherished memento she stumbled upon on the day the UPSC 2023 results were announced, reigniting memories of her late father's support.

Calling the picture "Treasures from the Memoirs," Goel shared an image of a hand-written marksheet, a relic from her father, dating back to 2008.

"Came across this Hand-written marksheet Papa few days back, while looking for old educational certificates," she tweeted. The document was penned by her father shortly after the release of the UPSC results in 2008.

In her tweet, Goel expressed gratitude for the support, care, and guidance bestowed upon her by her parents. She also emphasised the irreplaceable nature of parental devotion, underscoring its pivotal role in shaping her journey.

"The support, care and guidance extended by parents is completely unconditional and totally irreplaceable," she wrote.

Despite her father's death last year, Goel said she finds solace in the belief that he continues to watch over and guide her endeavours towards serving society. "Papa is not with us physically now, but I know he is watching and guiding in my endeavors towards the society," she expressed.

She concluded her tweet with a heartfelt message in Hindi: "Wherever you may be, always be happy and keep blessing us."

The marksheet detailed marks scored in various subjects, a grand total and the percentage of marks obtained by Goel.

Goel shared the post and her tribute to her father with her 5 lakh X followers and received numerous likes and comments.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results for the Civil Services mains examination 2023 on April 17, with Aditya Srivastava from Lucknow clinching the coveted All India Rank 1, followed by Animesh Pradhan and Donuru Ananya Reddy.
