IPL Media Rights Day 2 Highlights: IPL media rights auction resumed today (June 13) at 11 AM with bidding for TV and digital rights which crossed Rs 43,000 crore on opening day of the auction. The base price for TV was set at Rs 18,130 and digital's base price is Rs 12,210, totaling to Rs 30,340 crore.
The upcoming media rights cycle has been divided into four bundles. The first bundle comprises broadcast/TV rights of the Indian subcontinent for all games with an estimated base price of Rs 49 crore per match whereas the second package includes digital rights for the Indian subcontinent (all games) with a base price of around Rs 33 crore for each game.

The second day of IPL's media rights has come to an end with bidding for package C and D to continue tomorrow. The non-exclusive digital rights of 18 matches saw value touching Rs 1,700 crore on day two of bidding. The base price for bundle C is Rs 1,440 crore and the value is expected to reach Rs 1,940 crore
Digital ad agency, Puretech Digital's CEO Prashant Deorah, said that while advertisement rates will be at a premium during IPL 2023, IPL is the biggest advertising venture in the Indian subcontinent and will continue attracting advertisers.
“It is in fact bigger than the EPL (English Premier League) in terms of revenue. The addition of more teams, and more participating owners will mean only more penetration and reach. A lot of brands are going to use this now to activate their first-party audience in conjunction with the IPL to reach to not only those people who are interested in the sport but also are customers.”
Digital ad agency, Puretech Digital's CEO Prashant Deorah, said, "We can expect up to 25 - 40% jump in cost of advertising as compared to this year's IPL in the next year."
The rights value of the 18 matches are expected to reach Rs 1,940 crore and rights of the rest of the world is likely to go up to Rs 1,610 crore. In total, these remaining two packages are likely to add Rs 3,550 crore, taking the total media rights value to over Rs 47,000 crore
The bidding for package C and D is most likely to conclude today and will not go on till tomorrow, said a person close to the development. Package D include rights for rest of the world at Rs 3 crore per match
The bidding for bundle C is going on which offers non-exclusive digital rights for 18 matches at Rs 16 crore per game and it is estimated that these matches could get the winner 40 percent of the IPL's viewership as these matches include four playoff games and 13 evening double header matches.
