After billionaire entrepreneur and Shark Tank judge Mark Cuban has recently said that he would buy X 'in a heartbeat, its owner and richest person in the world, Elon Musk, reacted to it with a laughing emoticon on X. Musk, whose estimated net worth is $251 billion, had bought Twitter in 2022 for $44 billion and renamed it to X. Meanwhile, Cuban's current net worth is $5.7 billion.

The "Shark" had also said that he would like to buy Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News if he had the money. “If I had enough money to do it, which I don’t, I’d buy it in a heartbeat,” Cuban had said. But he also voiced skepticism about the feasibility of its acquisition. "He wouldn’t sell it," Cuban said, and when pressed more and asked if he could convince Musk, he added, "I wish I could. There’s no reason for him to sell it."

Musk responded to a post by DogeDesigner highlighting Cuban's wish to buy the platform, and left a laughing emoji in the reply section of the post.

In August, during an interview on The Daily Show, Mark Cuban criticised Musk suggesting that he might have manipulated X's algorithm. Musk responded with an emoji insult, escalating the dispute. Later, however, Cuban acknowledged Musk's significant influence through his ownership of the platform. He described Musk as "the most influential man in the world" due to his control over X.
