Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh got married in November 2018. With this announcement, the couple has confirmed weeks of rumours about their pregnancy. The rumours mill went into overdrive after Padukone's recent BAFTAs appearance, where she wore a saree. Eagle-eyed social media users said that the actress appeared to be hiding her stomach.

A source had recently told The Week that Padukone, 38, is in her second trimester and will soon make an official announcement, which she did today.

Deepika Padukone had spoken about starting her own family in January. "Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family," she had told Vogue.
