Three prized cars of a Vadodara man were severely impacted as devastating floods submerged his vehicles, highlighting the severe impact of Gujarat's relentless rains that have plunged several cities into a state of emergency with severe water-logging and flood-like conditions. The man, who shared his ordeal on Reddit, revealed that the flooding not only infiltrated his house but also severely damaged his luxury Audi A6, Ford EcoSport, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
The unnamed resident, who shared his ordeal on Reddit, revealed that his three treasured cars have been severely damaged by the floodwaters. "There’s nothing left to live for anymore," he lamented in his post, which included images of his partially submerged vehicles—a luxury Audi A6, a Ford EcoSport, and a Maruti Suzuki Ciaz—sitting in several inches of water.
The distressing post went on to reveal that the Ciaz had been a special 18th birthday gift received in 2019. “Ciaz had just done 49k km, the Ford 52, and the Audi 120k,” he wrote, expressing his sorrow at the loss of his prized possessions.

Contrary to some speculations, the resident clarified that the damage was not due to the cars being parked on the streets and that his vehicles were securely stationed within his bungalow’s parking area, located in a well-maintained society with ample parking space. However, the floods left no area unscathed, with water levels rising nearly four feet outside his home and seeping seven inches into his house.
“I stay in a 5 BHK bungalow in a society with 85 houses. We have three car parkings per house. Water has seeped seven inches into my house and almost four feet outside my house. What could I have done? The whole area, or rather the whole city, has been affected,” he wrote.
The resident also revealed that this is not the first time he has faced such catastrophic flooding. He recounted similar experiences in his previous society, where he dealt with floodwaters on two separate occasions. “This is like the third time I’m facing this. Twice in my previous society (with completely different cars) and the first time in four years at this new place,” he stated.
As the waters continue to rise, the man is anxiously waiting for the floodwaters to recede so that he can have his cars towed to the service centre. He expressed hope that the damage might be salvageable, noting that if water hasn’t seeped into the engine valves, the cars might still be repairable. “Yes, I will get insurance, I believe,” he added, though his uncertainty lingers.
The post has garnered numerous responses, with others sharing similar experiences of loss and despair in the wake of Gujarat’s monsoon fury. One commenter noted, “Get the vehicles towed to the company service centre. I don't think the EcoSport will have engine damage since it sits pretty high. I'm hoping the Audi might pull through. The engine might not even be the concern here—electronics and sensors can be an issue.”
Another user expressed frustration over the systemic failures leading to such disasters, saying, “This is what you get for paying income tax, then heavy GST on cars, road tax, cesses, tolls, etc.”
Over 28 people have died in rain-related incidents in Gujarat in the past few days. Around 17,800 people have been evacuated from flood-affected areas, with heavy showers lashing parts of the state for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday.
