Below is the verbatim transcript of Chandan Mitra's interview with CNBC-TV18’s Rituparna Bhuyan
Q: Key legislations like the Insurance Bill are stuck?
A: Actually you should ask this question to the Opposition, particularly the Congress. They have blocked proceedings for the last several days and today also realising how important it is for the country’s economy and image they seemed determined to block all proceedings and prevent the bill from being passed.
Q: What happens now is ordinance a way out if the bill does not get cleared in this session?
A: Every route will have to be explored and ordinance is one of those routes. The government will take a view only when the sessions end tomorrow because we are hopeful that somehow good sense will prevail and if not today at least tomorrow the Congress will give up this kind of receptive activity and allow the passage of these two bills.Get access to India's fastest growing financial subscriptions service Moneycontrol Pro for as little as Rs 599 for first year.
