The exclusive Ducati Superleggera 1299, a limited edition bike that costs more than any other in India, has been delivered to its first and only Indian owner. The Rs 1.12 crore superbike will be the sole piece in India as all 500 pieces of the limited range are sold out.
The proud owner of the Superleggera is Vikram Oberoi, the Joint Managing Director at Oberoi Group of Hotels. He is well known at the Buddh International Circuit for motor racing and owns Ducati 1299 Panigale S, Ducati 916, and Ducati 1098, as per a report in India Today.
Ducati India’s Managing Director Ravi Avalur told the website that since the 1299 Superleggera was among world’s most exclusive motorcycles, only 500 units of it were manufactured. He personally delivered the bike to Oberoi.
The “superbike”, weighing only 156 Kg (dry), has a powerful factory twin-cylinder. The bike produces 215 Bhp, and it is geared with Ducati Power Launch along with the old Engine brake Control.
The Superleggera is considered one of the the most technologically advanced motorcycles by Ducati and the first of its kind to have a full carbon fiber body. For more control on the high-performance of the motorcycle, Ducati has also brought out an electronics package that includes features for traction control and powerful brakes for safety.
