A Bengaluru woman was left disgusted after she found a cockroach in the chicken fried rice ordered from a restaurant on online delivery platform Zomato.

The woman, identified as Harshitha, shared her experience in a video on X (formerly Twitter) in which she revealed that the chicken fried rice was ordered from "Tapri by the corner" restaurant on Zomato and found the cockroach in the food.

"I ordered chicken fried rice in Zomato from restaurant "TAPRI BY THE CORNER". I got cockroach in my food. Absolutely disgusted with my order! This is completely unacceptable and unhygienic. Need an immediate resolution," she wrote.

The woman's post got a reply from Zomato, who asked her for contact details so that they could look to resolve the issue immediately.
This is not the first recent instance in which Zomato has come under the scanner for delivering a food item with an insect.

A Hyderabad man, recently, found a lizard in the biryani that he ordered from a restaurant on the online delivery platform and his family expressed worry after the eatery gave them an unconvincing reply as to why more care was not taken while preparing the biryani.
