It is safe to say that music acts like a balm for the weary soul. It is an instant mood-lifter, a party-starter, and simply a companion for anyone who is feeling lonely or blue. Also, it transcends boundaries and languages.
A perfect example of the same is a video of an autorickshaw driver who was listening to a popular song by American singer-songwriter Christina Perri.
The now-viral clip was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a user named Neerja Shah. The PR and communications head at Pixxel, Shah captured the auto driver blasting “A Thousand Years” while stuck in traffic. He was also singing along and seemed to enjoy the track to the fullest.
The footage was recorded in Bengaluru. “Proof that everyone loves @christinaperri! What an absolute joy to watch,” Shah wrote in the caption of the post.

Since being shared online, the video has amassed over 76,000 views. Social media users were delighted to watch the autorickshaw driver and agreed with Shah’s sentiments.
“Now it feels that Christina has truly made it. Someone half way across the world is listening to her decade old song with so much passion,” a user wrote.
Another user commented, “Brother deserves all the love in the world.” A third user remarked, “This can be the perfect promo for the next Indian Idol season. Has every ingredient which they typically show about a contestant.”
A fourth user added, “Laut aao Christina Perri wala era.”
“Thousand years is one of my all-time favourite songs,” another person wrote.
Meanwhile, “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri released in 2011. It was featured in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1’s” album.
