The 26 models that Tata Motors will display at the upcoming Auto Expo will have a mix of current and future generation electric and fossil fuel-fired models across cars, SUVs, trucks and buses.

At least 11 of these models will be passenger vehicles (cars and sports utility vehicle) while 15 others will be commercial vehicles (trucks and buses). This will make Tata Motors’ stall the biggest in terms of model offering and real estate space.

While as many as six models (straddling across cars, mini trucks and buses) will be fully-electric there will also be hybrid and other alternate fuel-based models such a truck that is powered by LNG.

“We will have a new platform for the small commercial vehicle (SCV) segment which will have more than one model based on it. Then there will be an inter-city bus coach as well a 12 meter fully electric bus”, said Girish Wagh, head, commercial vehicle, Tata Motors.

Other commercial vehicle models will include an all-new light commercial vehicle based on the Ultra platform, a new heavy commercial vehicle. In addition there will be a two new engines developed in-house by Tata Motors also on display. These engines are built to meet the Bharat Stage VI emission norm and have seen an expenditure of Rs 150 crore each.

In the passenger vehicle category the company will showcase the electric version of the Tigor sedan, an all-new premium hatchback, an all-new mid-size SUV, a concept car and perhaps the electric version of the Nano will make up the full bouquet of 26 models from the company.

Tata Motors-owned British luxury brands Jaguar Land Rover will not be a part of the week long event.
