Adobe has announced new Generative AI tools within its popular video editing platform Premiere Pro. Editors can now remove or add an object to a video with just a simple text prompt, powered by Firefly AI, including a new video generation model. The new AI tools will be available to use from May 2024.
Adobe’s new AI tools and audio workflows for the Premiere Pro
Adobe is continuing to develop its Firefly AI models for imaging, video, audio, and 3D, and will integrate these across popular Adobe software like Adobe Express. These AI models are now also available in Premiere Pro. Further, Adobe is also partnering with Open AI and Runaway to add more video editing tools.
The new additions include the ability to add B-rolls in existing footage, add or remove objects, or track any object with some easy-to-use written prompts. Adobe has also planned a new feature called content credentials, which makes it easy to identify if the content is original or made with the help of AI, with the help of a watermark.
This text-to-prompt capability will help generate new footage within seconds, as editors can easily use these commands to generate storyboards or live B-roll videos without hovering over the whole timeline.
Additionally, Adobe has announced new audio workflows for Premiere Pro, that allow editors to control and improve the quality of sound. AI will help automatically tag dialogues, music, sound effects, or ambience, and add a new icon to help edit any footage.
Adobe has also showcased essential sound badges with audio categories and a redesigned waveform in the timeline.
