The newly opened store in Bengaluru is located in Nagasandra and spreads over an area of 12.2 acres with 4,60,000 sq ft of commercial space, making it the biggest IKEA store in India. The store began welcoming customers from June 22. It offers a range of well-designed, affordable home furnishing solutions.
Twenty seven percent of the store’s 7,000 type of products are produced in India. Currently, 48 percent of its workforce are women in the store. Additionally, IKEA plans to employ 10,000 in the state by 2030.
IKEA India (part of the Ingka Group), the global Swedish home furnishing retailer, is set to open its third store in Bengaluru, India on June 22 after Mumbai and Hyderabad. The large-format store will be connected to the Nagasandra metro station, making the store accessible for many people.
Swedish furniture retailing giant IKEA will open its first store in India at Hyderabad in the second half of 2017 even as it scouts for more sites in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
