The price increase will vary depending on different trims of the model.
Honda Cars is in the middle of restructuring its entire model lineup wherein some models will be discontinued and some reintroduced. It has already announced that it will stop selling the fourth-generation City mid-size sedan, WR-V crossover and Jazz premium hatchback from the end of this month.
With the model slated to debut on August 18, the company has initiated pre-bookings of the model at all authorised Honda dealerships across the country with a booking amount of Rs 21,000.
The 1.2 litre petrol variants of the model are priced between Rs 6.09 lakh and Rs 8.75 lakh, while the 1.5 litre diesel trims are tagged between Rs 7.55 lakh and Rs 9.95 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
"This is the fastest 50,000 sales number recorded by any new model launched by HCIL in India," the company said in a statement.

The company's premium hatchback Swift was the second best-selling model with 14,057 units compared with 19,669 units in the same month last year.
Last month, the company sold 396 units of small car Brio, 4,709 units of hatchback Jazz, 3,471 units of compact sedan Amaze, 441 units of MPV Mobilio and 8,037 units of the mid-sized sedan City.
The car would be the first to be developed at Honda's local research centre and will be positioned above small, cheap entry-level models, such as Maruti Suzuki's Alto and Wagon R, Hironao Ito, senior vice president at Honda Genbetsu India, the R&D arm, said.
