Congress manifesto is a Maoist manifesto and dangerous: Mohandas Pai

Rahul Gandhi is whimsical, he doesn't care about views of anybody else, said Pai.

The Congress' manifesto is a Maoist manifesto, believes TV Mohandas Pai, Chairman, Aarin Capital.

In a candid discussion with News18, Pai slammed the Congress' manifesto for its Maoist philosophy. He made the statement shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an exclusive interview with Network18 Group, slammed the Congress' manifesto for echoing Maoist ideology.

Pai said, "Congress manifesto is a Maoist manifesto and is very dangerous. It doesn't matter what they write in the manifesto, it matters what they think of it. Rahul Gandhi is whimsical, he doesn't care about views of anybody else", in a scathing attack on the Congress leader.

Also slamming other prominent Congress leaders, he further said, "People like Jairam Ramesh and Sam Pitroda are like urban naxals, they believe in the concept of inheritance tax. They follow Maoist ideology who believe in wealth distribution, especially among Muslims".

Pai also strongly criticised the party for its "wealth distribution" promise in its poll manifesto and hailed the Narendra Modi-led government for the solid growth and development of the Indian economy in the past decade.

"Justice done to a small section is not justice done to everybody. The BJP has ensured there is growth and development in this country. Under the Narendra Modi government, the GDP of India has grown from $2 trillion to $3.74 trillion, which is $1.74 trillion. There has never been such growth in the economy. The Nehru-led Congress believed in the centralisation of power in Delhi until former Prime Minister Narsimha Rao opened up the economy", said Pai.

PM Modi, in his interview, stated that it is his responsibility to inform the people about the direction Congress intends to take the country towards. He also noted that the party's decision in the 1990s to classify Muslims as OBCs in Karnataka was meant for "electoral gain".
