Maruti Suzuki offering huge discounts up to Rs 68,000 this festive season
To celebrate the festive season, India’s biggest four-wheeler manufacturer is offering discounts on some of its best-selling cars, including the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Ciaz.
Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest four-wheeler manufacturer, is celebrating this festive season with big discounts almost across its range. Cars such as the Ignis, Ciaz and Baleno can be availed with a ‘pre-navratri’ booking scheme of up to Rs 5,000. This scheme is open only until October 15, so book now. Aside from this, all of the cars on this list get exchange bonuses, corporate benefits and cash discounts. Unfortunately, some cars such as the Ertiga and Eeco from the Arena dealerships, and Fronx, Jimny, Invicto, XL6 and Grand Vitara from the Nexa dealerships do not get any discounts. Maruti Suzuki Dzire – Rs 17,000 Maruti Suzuki’s entry-level sedan, the Dzire, is up for grabs with discounts of up to Rs 17,000. The Dzire is one of the best-selling sedans in the country, with good reason. Aside from the low pricing, it boasts exceptional comfort in its wide cabin and comes with all the bells and whistles new drivers are looking for. The Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre engine that produces 90 hp of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include both a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. Maruti Suzuki Brezza – Rs 45,000 Next in line is the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Unfortunately, Maruti Suzuki discontinued the mild-hybrid tech with manual transmission variants of the Brezza earlier this year and with that, the company also saw a drop in sales. Hoping to revive buying enthusiasm for the compact SUV, Maruti Suzuki is offering the Brezza with discounts amounting to a total of Rs 45,000. The Brezza is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 103 hp of maximum power and 136.8 Nm of peak torque. This variant is mated to the 5-speed manual gearbox. The 5-speed automatic option comes complete with Maruti’s smart hybrid tech and while the output figures remain identical, mileage goes up from 17.38 km/l on the manual option to 19.80 km/l on the mild hybrid automatic variant. Maruti Suzuki Swift – Rs 47,000 One of Maruti Suzuki’s bestselling hatchbacks is being offered with discounts amounting to a total of Rs 47,000. The Maruti Suzuki Swift, like its sedan counterpart, the Dzire, is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This churns out 90 hp of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque. The Swift, as its name suggests, is quite zippy on the streets thanks to its small proportions, and while its cabin may feel comfortable enough, it does lose out on some features offered by rival hatchbacks. For that, however, you can have the Baleno, which is also on this list. The Maruti Suzuki Swift also gets a CNG variant, which attracts benefits of up to Rs 33,000. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz – Rs 53,000 The next sedan from the Maruti Suzuki lineup is the Ciaz. Sold through the company’s premium Nexa dealerships, the Ciaz gets discounts of up to Rs 53,000 for this festive season. Again the Ciaz lacks features compared to some of its other rivals, like the Skoda Slavia or the Hyundai Verna, but offers a fairly spacious cabin and a fairly peppy engine. The Ciaz is powered by a 1.5-litre natural aspirated petrol engine that produces 103 hp of maximum power and 138 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter gearbox. There is no CNG option available for the Ciaz, but the offer is available on transmission variants. Maruti Suzuki Baleno – Rs 55,000 The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is the best-selling car for the month of September with sales of 18,417 units. This is one of the few cars in the Indian four-wheeler manufacturer’s lineup offering a higher discount on the CNG variant than the standard petrol. The Baleno CNG is available with a discount totaling Rs 55,000 whereas the standard engine gets benefits of up to Rs 40,000. Powering the Baleno is a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 90 hp of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque. This can be mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT automatic gearbox. The CNG variant uses the same 1.2-litre engine and comes only with the 5-speed manual transmission option. Its output figures, however, drop down to 78 hp and 98.5 Nm. Maruti Suzuki WagonR – Rs 58,000 With discounts of up to Rs 58,000, the WagonR is another car that usually takes the top spot in the monthly sales chart. This time around, it managed a second-place ranking in September sales with sales of 16,250 units. The WagonR is available in two engine options; the first is a 1-litre unit that produces 66 hp of power and 89 Nm of peak torque. This engine also comes in a CNG variant, lowering the output figures to 57 hp and 82 Nm. If you want a little more punch, the 1.2-litre petrol is capable of producing 90 hp of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque. Now, while the CNG is only available in a 5-speed manual option, the other two options get both manual as well as AMT automatic. Prices start at Rs 5.54 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis – Rs 65,000 The next and final car from the Nexa lineup of Maruti Suzuki cars to get a discount is the Ignis. This funky little hatchback is good for benefits up to Rs 65,000. Despite its small size, the Ignis feels like a fairly spacious car once you’re inside the cabin. It comes powered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that is good for 83 hp of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque. There is no CNG option available on the Ignis, but it still gets both transmission options namely, a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 – Rs 68,000 Maruti Suzuki’s cheapest car, the Alto K10, is available with discounts up to Rs 68,000, but on the CNG variant. The petrol variants, on the other hand, attract benefits of up to Rs 53,000. This standard petrol is a 1-litre naturally aspirated engine capable of producing 67 hp of maximum power and 89 Nm of peak torque. In CNG specs, this engine produces 57 hp and 82 Nm. The Alto is available in both manual and automatic transmission options and despite the low power figures, it is a very light car. Maruti Suzuki S Presso – Rs 68,000 Now the Maruti Suzuki S Presso doesn’t have the biggest or most powerful of engines. In fact, it features the same 1-litre heart of the Alto K10 and produces the same 67 hp of maximum power and 89 Nm of peak torque. The CNG variant, too, produces 57 hp and 82 Nm, respectively, out of the same 1-litre engine. The S Presso, however, is known for proper SUV styling in a tiny hatchback package. Mind you, cabin space isn’t something to write home about, but it doesn’t fall short of the wow factor. Maruti Suzuki Celerio – Rs 68,000 Finally, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio comes with benefits of up to Rs 51,000 on the petrol variants and Rs 68,000 on the CNG variant. Like the Alto K10, the Celerio is also powered by a 1-litre petrol engine that produces 67 hp of maximum power and 89 Nm of peak torque. The CNG variant again uses the same engine and lowers the output figures to 57 hp and 82 Nm. The Celerio is tiny and nimble like the Alto K10 but gets features similar to the WagonR.
