FIIs were net buyers to the tune of Rs 1621 crore in Index Options; which open interest (OI) was up by 37121 contracts. They were net buyers of Rs 405 crore in Stock Futures; which OI was up by 8126 contracts.
The rupee may appreciate further after yesterday's pullback. The currency is likely to get support from improved sentiment in the domestic stock market alongwith the dollar's weakness, says N Subramaniam, Pinnacle Forex.

At 7: 56 am (IST), Asian markets were trading firm. Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 0.55% or 133.01 poinst at 24,286.99. Japan's Nikkei was up 0.19% or 19.95 points at 10,538.93. China's Shanghai Composite was flat at 2,708.31. Singapore's Straits Times was flat at 3,249.72.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended up 51 points at 11,838. The Nasdaq Composite was up 10.5 points at 2,766 and S&P 500 Index rose 2 points at 1,295.
Indian ADRs ended mostly in green on Tuesday. In Banking space, HDFC Bank was down 0.04% at $ 150 while ICICI Bank was up 0.75% at $ 45.44. In Telecom space, Tata Communication was up 0.44% at $ 11.46 while MTNL was down 3.31% at $ 2.34.
Crude slipped to one-week low at USD 91 per barrel on reports that inventories in developed countries looked relatively comfortable as supplies normalised after operations at the Alaska pipeline resumed. Currently it is trading at USD 91.49 per barrel.
