The Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board (MP ESB) has officially released a recruitment notification for the post of Sub-Inspector (SI). This recruitment drive, the first for the SI position in approximately eight years, marks a major opportunity for thousands of candidates.
The MP ESB has announced a total of 500 vacancies for the posts of Sub-Inspector and Subedar. The application process is scheduled to commence on 27th October 2025 and will conclude on 10th November 2025.

Sub-Inspector: 472 Posts
Sub-Inspector (General Duty Special Armed Forces)

Important Dates
Aspiring candidates must carefully review the following eligibility criteria before applying:
Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree from any recognized university.
Age Limit: The candidate's age must be between 18 to 33 years as on a specified date. Age relaxation will be applicable for reserved categories as per the rules of the Madhya Pradesh State Government.
Physical Standards
Height: Male - 167.5 cm, Female - 152.4 cm
Chest (For Male): 81 cm (with a minimum expansion of 86 cm)
MP SI Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be a rigorous, multi-stage process. The first hurdle is the Preliminary Examination, which is a compulsory screening test for all applicants. Candidates who qualify in the Prelims will become eligible to appear for the Main Written Examination. Those who clear the Mains will then have to undergo the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which is followed by a final interview.
Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme
The Preliminary Exam will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) worth 100 marks to be completed in 2 hours. The syllabus covers Hindi Language Comprehension, English Language Comprehension, Analytical Ability, History, and Geography. Importantly, there will be no negative marking in the preliminary examination.
The Main Written Exam will consist of two question papers, each containing two sections. Each section will be of 150 marks, making the total marks for the Mains exam 600. All questions in the Mains will be of the Multiple Choice type.
The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is a crucial stage carrying 100 marks. It includes an 800-meter run for 40 marks, a long jump for 30 marks, and a shot put throw for 30 marks. Candidates must secure a minimum of 30% marks in the PET to be called for the final stage, which is the interview. The interview itself will carry 50 marks.
Application Fee
The application fee for this recruitment is set at Rs. 500 for candidates from the Unreserved or General category. For candidates belonging to OBC, SC, ST, and EWS categories who are domiciled of Madhya Pradesh, the application fee is Rs. 250.
