PM Modi in US: From Olympic effort in 2036 to big investment promise in semiconductor

Prime Minister Modi declared an ambitious investment of USD 15 billion in the semiconductor field to enhance India's position in the global technology landscape.

PM Modi noted that India’s 5G market has surpassed that of the US in two years and discussed ongoing "Made in India 6G" initiatives.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a three-day visit to the US, ending September 23, made a slew of big announcements.

During his visit, PM Modi participated in the annual Quad summit in Wilmington, Delaware, addressed the 'Summit of the Future' at the UN General Assembly in New York, and held a roundtable discussion with CEOs of leading American technology companies.

>> Prime Minister Modi declared an ambitious investment of USD 15 billion in the semiconductor field to enhance India's position in the global technology landscape.

>> The Prime Minister remarked, “For the world, AI means Artificial Intelligence. But I believe that AI means American-Indian,” highlighting the spirit of collaboration.

>> PM Modi noted that India’s 5G market has surpassed that of the US in two years and discussed ongoing "Made in India 6G" initiatives.

>> By 2025, India could see over 10,000 bio-startups emerging, focusing on health security and global challenges, committed PM Modi.

>> The US facilitated the return of 297 antiquities to India, following a Cultural Property Agreement signed in July 2024, with a symbolic handover during the meeting.
