Two incidents of coach uncoupling on the Bandra Terminus–Amritsar Paschim Express within an hour on Sunday raised serious safety concerns among passengers in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
The first incident occurred between Vangaon and Dahanu stations at 1:19 pm, followed by another at Sanjan station in Gujarat around 2:10 pm, officials said.
"There was no injury or inconvenience caused to any passenger, and there has been no impact on overall train operations," a Western Railway spokesperson told news agency PTI. The train was initially halted for about 25 minutes for re-coupling before being cleared to proceed at 1:46 pm. It then faced a second uncoupling at Sanjan station.
