In the wake of the 'Maghi Purnima snan' that is to take place during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj on Wednesday, February 12, the district authorities have announced detailed traffic measures.
The traffic measures aim to ensure a smooth experience for the large number of devotees expected to participate in the ritual.

Strict vehicle restrictions will be enforced across the Mela area and parts of Prayagraj city from February 11, Tuesday. These areas will be designated as no-vehicle zones.
The only vehicles allowed to enter the designated area will be those associated with essential and emergency services. The devotees have been urged to use public transport to avoid any inconvenience. They have also been urged to follow official guidelines throughout the event.
The restrictions came into force at 4 am on February 11, when the entire Mela area will become a no-vehicle zone. Vehicles of devotees arriving from outside Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh bathing will be directed to designated parking areas along their respective routes.
The restrictions will continue in the Mela area and Prayagraj city until the smooth and orderly exit of devotees on February 12.
The authorities have also specified that the vehicle entry and exit restrictions will also apply to the vehicles ‘Kalpavasis,the pilgrims who stay in Prayagraj for an extended period during the Kumbh.
