A new viral video of Abhey Singh or IIT Baba, who has become an internet sensation, has emerged where his pictures can be seen from his Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay days.

IIT Baba has caught the attention of netizens following his journey from being an engineer to now being an ascetic at the Maha Kumbh 2025.

Prayagraj reaps a spiritual and economic windfall in Mahakumbh

If the reports are to be believed the IIT Baba studied aerospace engineering at India’s premier technology institute before leaving his career to turn to spiritualism. The young sadhu’s transition from a tech person to a ‘baba’ triggered a debate online over life choices and finding life’s purpose.

In the new video that has emerged now, the IIT Baba can be seen hanging out with his IIT-Bombay batchmates. The video shared on Instagram has received around a million likes and has been shared and commented several times.

The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 being held in Prayagraj has seen a record turnout of devotees and saints. Till January 16, more than 70 million people have taken a holy dip in the waters of Sangam and other nearby ghats. The Maha Kumbh has a significant historic and religious importance in north India and is likely to see the participation of over 450 million pilgrims from across the country.
