In a move to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the renaming of Mysore state to Karnataka, the Karnataka government has issued a directive requiring all state government employees to wear red-and-yellow identity card lanyards. This initiative is part of the "Hesarayitu Karnataka, Usiragali Kannada" campaign, aimed at marking this significant milestone.
According to the order, all government employees across various departments and organizations, including state government offices, corporations, boards, directorates, and commissionerates, are now mandated to don these specially colored lanyards. The red-and-yellow colors are symbolic of the state’s heritage and identity.
The order emphasizes that the respective authorities within each department are responsible for ensuring that the employees are provided with the red-and-yellow ID card collars and that they comply with the new dress code. This step is intended to foster a sense of unity and pride among government staff and to celebrate Karnataka's rich cultural history.
The "Hesarayitu Karnataka, Usiragali Kannada" campaign, which translates to "Honoring Karnataka, Preserving Kannada," seeks to highlight the state's linguistic and cultural heritage while commemorating the historic renaming of the state 50 years ago.
