India has once again strongly rebuked Pakistan at the United Nations for its repeated references to Jammu and Kashmir, calling them "unwarranted" and reiterating that the region was, is, and will always remain an integral part of India.
India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, made the remarks during a UN debate, where he accused Pakistan of attempting to "divert attention" from critical global discussions.
"India is compelled to note that the delegate of Pakistan has yet again resorted to unwarranted remarks on the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir," Ambassador Harish said. "Such repeated references neither validate their illegal claims nor justify their state-sponsored cross-border terrorism."

Rejecting Pakistan’s attempts to push a "parochial and divisive agenda" at the international forum, Harish advised Islamabad to refrain from using global platforms for political propaganda. "We would advise Pakistan not to try to divert the attention of this forum," he added.
India also made it clear that it would not engage in a prolonged exchange on the matter. "India will refrain from exercising a more elaborate Right of Reply," the envoy concluded.
At the session, Ambassador Harish also stressed the need for troop- and police-contributing countries to play a central role in shaping peacekeeping mandates. He underlined the importance of ensuring "adequate funding" to support operational requirements.
