Right then. What next for MI? They take on Rajasthan Royals in their quest for their 6th successive win, this time in Jaipur, on Thursday, 1st May, 2025. On the other hand, LSG have nearly a week's break, before they head north to Dharamsala, to meet the Punjab Kings on Sunday, 4th May, 2025. But we are not done yet. The second match of this Sunday double header is already underway in Delhi with RCB and DC trading blows. Do head over there to that matchcentre. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!

Interesting. Mumbai Indians' WILL JACKS HAS BEEN AWARDED THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH. 29 (21) with the bat and then a double-wicket over to boot. On being asked about what does he prefer being called - batter who can bowl or an allrounder, Jacks smiles and says that he is a batter but does focus on his bowling. Doesn't think of himself as a part timer and loves to contribute whenever called upon. Admits that Pooran and Pant were big wickets as Lucknow Super Giants were going really well at that stage and was elated to get both the left handers at that stage. Is not too sure whether he can be called as the slayer of left handers and says that he just loves to bowl. Thanks the captain and management for giving him an opportunity to be a part of this family. Opines that MI are finding a nice rhythm but still have some work to do. On Jasprit Bumrah, Will calls him an incredible bowler, detailing that he had the displeasure of facing Bumrah in the nets and cannot say how good is he, in words. Ends by saying that Boom Boom is just amazing to watch.

The victorious skipper of Mumbai Indians, HARDIK PANDYA, is all smiles as he comes on to share his views. Hardik says carrying the momentum was important and the way the team has responded in front of such a special crowd is impressive. Mentions that everybody took their chances and chipped in wonderfully both with the bat and the ball to make a big impact. Says good teams are made of such contributions and lauds the way the entire team came in with contributions. On him bowling just one over, Pandya says he felt Bosch could do well on this surface and that was the only reason. Concludes that they as a group are very aware of not letting things get carried away and will take one game at a time and look to carry the momentum.

... THE PRESENTATION ...

The IPL debutant, CORBIN BOSCH, is up next, for a chat. On being asked about when did he get to know about his IPL debut, Bosch informs that he got the news in the morning through head coach Mahela Jayawardene. Adds that since Mitchell Santner was ruled out of this game, he was chosen as the replacement. Calls it a super special day, as it is his brother (Eathan Bosch's) birthday as well. Adds further that it is a special day to make his MI debut as well on the ESA day. Details that this morning, he was jealous of brother Eathan as the birthday boy was celebrating but now, he (Corbin) is the one much happier. On receiving praise from former Aussie allrounder Shane Watson, CB says that he actually looks up to Watson, as he was destructive with both bat and ball, adding that he wants to become like Watto in the future. On his thought process while batting, Corbin Bosch says that he was just thinking of making contact with the ball and once he did that, the nerves settled down. On his bowling, Bosch says that he is working on his bowling and thanks MI's bowling mentor Lasith Malinga for really helping his confidence. On a preferred batting position, Corbin says that he is just happy to bat wherever the team needs him to and is ready to contribute towards the team. Ends by saying that it has been absolutely fantastic for the kids and the team just wanted to make this day extra special for them and calls it a fantastic initiative from the Mumbai Indians.

The captain of Lucknow Super Giants, RISHABH PANT, says the decision to chase was the right call as they backed their batters while also giving the best of the conditions for their bowlers, but it just wasn't their day. Adds that he doesn't want to question a lot about how they bowled as a team and gives credit to Mumbai Indians for playing well. On his own batting, Pant says he doesn't want to think too much and wants to keep it simple in this team-driven game. Lauds the way Mayank Yadav came back in his very first match and hopes for him to get better and better every game.

Incorrect call at the toss? Perhaps, in hindsight. In Mumbai, with the sun beating down hard, the pitches do tend to crack and slow down a touch in the late afternoon. Lucknow Super Giants were looking for early wickets with the ball but barring Rohit Sharma, the other batters made them work for their wickets. Just 5 bowlers were used and the pressure told, as everyone went around the park, with only two overs being as one without a boundary. With the bat, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni gave a bit of a headache to the home side, being 103/3 at the 10-over mark. But Marsh's wicket caused a collapse and it turned out to be a big loss in the end. As many as 4 batters got starts but could not convert those, which was the difference between the two sides.

It was the B and B show for MI. Jasprit Bumrah was back at his best, bowling yorkers at will, ending with 4 wickets while Trent Boult helped himself to 3 as well. In the process, Bumrah went on to become the leading wicket taker for Mumbai Indians in the IPL while Trent Boult picked up his 50th scalp in MI colours. But in between these two legends, along came Will Jacks, who chipped in with two wickets as well. The Englishman has turned out to be more than a part timer, picking up 5 wickets, at an average of 15.6 and an economy of 7.09!

A near-perfect performance by the home side. Lost the toss, were asked to bat and they responded in strong style. Ryan Rickelton led the early charge and then Suryakumar Yadav handled the middle overs. Half centuries from both players with decent cameos towards the end saw MI cross the 200-mark and post 215 on the board, which turned out to be more than enough. Then, with the ball, barring for a brief period during the Powerplay, the bowlers were clinical, with experience coming out trumps.

150TH WIN IN THE IPL FOR MUMBAI INDIANS. The first team to achieve this feat, with Chennai Super Kings way behind at 140 in second place. Also, this is the fifth successive win for Hardik Pandya and his men, who also get their fourth win at home this season, in 5 matches. Provisionally, they move to second but because the next game between DC and RCB will see the winner move to 14 points, MI will automatically drop down to third by the end of the day.

19.6OUT! CASTLED! Trent Boult gets his third and Mumbai Indians wrap the game by 54 runs. Boult steams in and fires a full-length ball, angling it in, on middle and leg. Digvesh Singh is way too late on his shot and looks to drag it across the line, only to get beaten by pace. The ball goes on to crash into the leg stump, and Lucknow Super Giants are all out for 161, at the end of 20 overs.

19.5Lands it on a good length, on middle and leg, Prince Yadav tucks it to the mid-wicket region for a single.

19.4Back of a length, over off, Prince Yadav dabs it down the deck.

19.3A full toss, outside off, sliced through point for a run.

19.2On middle, worked through mid-wicket for a single.

19.1Sticking to the basics. No theatrics. Trent Boult to bowl the final over. 3-0-17-2 so far. Inswinging yorker, around middle, dug out to the bowler.

Who will bowl the final over? Will Hardik go to Boult or will he experiment with Chahar or himself?

18.6Hard length, at the stumps, skidding through to almost go onto hit the stumps. Digvesh Singh just about manages to get an inside edge onto his pads. Bosch ends with figures 4-0-26-1.

18.6WIDE! On a length, just going down leg, Digvesh Singh tries to tickle it fine but misses.

Who will be given the honours? Digvesh or Mayank? Digvesh Singh comes in at number 11, replacing Ravi Bishnoi.

18.5OUT! TIMBER! The fun for Ravi Bishnoi comes to an end and Corbin Bosch gets his first wicket for Mumbai Indians! Nails the yorker, on middle and Ravi Bishnoi is all over it as he looks to whip it across and gets beaten. The ball scoots under and rattles the stumps. Ravi Bishnoi departs for 13 (14) and LSG are 157/9.

18.4Pace off, short and over middle, Ravi Bishnoi is way too early on the pull and misses.

18.3Another yorker, dug out to the bowler this time.

18.2Yorker, outside off, dug out to the off side for a single.

18.2WIDE. Down the leg side, Prince misses his flick.

18.1A review for a caught behind. A length ball, following the batter down the leg side, Prince Yadav looks to flick but misses. There is a noise and the keeper appeals but the umpire stays unmoved. Mumbai Indians go for the review but UltraEdge detects the spike when the ball is near the pad.

Meanwhile, news from Delhi is that the Royal Challengers Bengaluru have won the toss and elected to chase against Delhi Capitals, in match number 46. Interesting thoughts from both captains, with Rajat Patidar citing the good nature of the wicket while Axar Patel saying that the wicket will slow down, so is happy to bat first. No Phil Salt for RCB, replaced by Jacob Bethell while for DC, Faf du Plessis returns.

17.6SIX! BANG! Ravi Bishnoi takes on Bumrah and has a celebration of his own for doing it. On a good length, over middle, Ravi Bishnoi swings across and connects well. Clears long on for a biggie. Jasprit Bumrah finishes with figures 4-0-22-4. A true impact player for MI!

17.5A nasty bouncer, angling into the left shoulder of the batter. Ravi Bishnoi ducks under and makes sure to stay away from the firing line.

17.4Looks for a yorker but misses it by a few inches, on middle, Ravi Bishnoi pushes it to mid off.

17.3A good short ball, following the batter, Yadav is cramped for room and somehow manages to fend it towards square leg for a single.

17.2Another full toss, outside off, Prince pushes this straight to cover.

17.1Good ball for the hattrick ball. Goes for the yorker, does Bumrah but misses his mark. Turns out to be a low full toss and Prince Yadav is happy to defend.

Should be Bumrah with his hattrick ball. Or does Hardik have other ideas? Nope, it is Boom Boom.

16.6Good length, on middle, Bishnoi makes some room and taps it to cover.

16.5Another bouncer, over middle, Ravi Bishnoi throws the kitchen sink at it and misses.

16.4Short and on middle, Ravi Bishnoi has a wild swing across and misses. Hardik Pandya has a chat with the bowler and decides to take the review for a caught-behind appeal, with not many interested in the first place. The replays show there is a gap as the ball passes the bat, and the UltraEdge confirms it too. The on-field call of NOT OUT stays, and Mumbai Indians lose a review.

16.3A short ball now, Bishnoi looks to ramp it over the keeper but misses.

16.2SIX! WHAM! Slower ball, short in length, outside off, Ravi Bishnoi picks the change in pace and heaves this over mid-wicket!

16.1Outside off, driven straight to mid off.

Prince Yadav walks in next, at number 10, replacing Avesh Khan.

15.6OUT! BOWLED! Action replay! It almost looked like that. A right-handed batter, Bumrah the bowler, a corker of a yorker, around off, bat comes down late, ball goes through and BOOM! The off stump is rattled again as Avesh departs for a golden duck! Bumrah now has 4 and will be on a hattrick when he comes to bowl his next over!

Avesh Khan walks in next at number 9, replacing Abdul Samad.

15.5OUT! BOWLED! That's a Boom Boom special. Wicket number 3 for him. A perfect yorker, at the base of the stumps. Abdul Samad tries to get down his bat in time but is way too late. Misses and the ball goes under to hit the off stump! Samad departs for 2 (4) and from 110/3, Lucknow Super Giants are now 142/7, in the span of 28 balls! 74 more needed from 25 balls.

15.4Full, on middle, Bishnoi works it through mid on for a single.

15.3Landed outside off, almost a yorker, Ravi Bishnoi pushes it towards point.

Into the bowlers now. Ravi Bishnoi walks in at number 8, replacing David Miller.

15.2OUT! IN THE AIR AND GONE! CAUGHT! That's probably the knockout punch to LSG. Full toss, was there to be dispatched, David Miller doesn't appear to muscle it and ends up spooning it straight to Corbin Bosch towards the deep mid-wicket fence. Bosch runs to his left, leaps and takes a good catch to end Miller's inning and LSG's hopes.

15.1Bumrah, like others, continues to search for the yorker and nails it on off. Abdul Samad tucks this away towards deep mid-wicket for one.

14.6A low full toss, on the pads, David Miller flicks it to deep square leg for a couple of runs. Just 6 runs and a wicket off this over.

14.5This is some serious bowling! Not giving the batters an inch! Fires in the yorker, at the pads, Abdul Samad fails to flick it and the batters sneak a leg bye as the ball rolls to the on side. Boult does well to charge in and tries to have a shy at the bowling end but misses.

14.4Nicely bowled. Very full, on middle and leg, David Miller jams it down to long on for a single.

Abdul Samad walks in next at number 7, replacing Ayush Badoni.

14.3On middle, pushed down to long on for a single.

14.2OUT! CAUGHT! Well, did not get a wicket in the previous over, does not matter for MI! 50TH WICKET FOR TRENT BOULT IN THE IPL IN MI COLOURS! A length ball, around middle and off, angling away, excellent change of pace, Ayush Badoni stays away to the leg side and tries to get it up and over the infield on the off side. But he cannot manufacture the pace and plays the shot way too early. Ends up chipping it tamely to Will Jacks at point. Badoni departs for 35 (22) and from 110/3, Lucknow Super Giants are now 135/5. Need another 81 from 34 balls.

Dear me? We are shown the replay of the last ball of the 14th over and guess what, UltraEdge picks up a spike as the ball is close to the bat! No wonder Badoni did not review for the wide.

14.1On middle, pushed down to long on for a single.

STRATEGIC TIMEOUT. Lucknow Super Giants are fast approaching a do-or-die period in this chase. They got 60 in the Powerplay but have added only 74 in the next 8 overs. As a standalone, that is a good stat but when the required rate is close to 11 from the start, it is not good enough. With 82 needed from 36 balls, David Miller needs to revisit what his father used to say in his early playing days - 'If the ball is in Miller's arc, it is out of the park'. MI have been bowling excellently, using the dimensions of the boundaries to near perfection. They were struggling a touch in the Powerplay but once the ball has gotten older and softer, they have strut their skills. Will Jacks is turning out to be more than a handy part timer for this side. Here's Trent Boult again, trying to break this partnership and nip the chase in the bud. 2-0-12-1 so far.

13.6Ayush Badoni moves across and Corbin Bosch lands it down leg, on a fuller length. Ayush fails to connect his scoop behind and hopes for the umpire to call it a wide. It's deemed a fair delivery due to the shuffle and LSG do not opt for the review either.

13.5Short of a length, on off, David Miller thumps it hard over the bowler. Bosch does well to stick up his right hand and cuts all the pace off the ball and parries it to long on for a single.

13.5WIDE! Overcompensates with an effort ball that is going down leg. Corbin Bosch will have to relaod this one.

13.4FOUR! David Miller finding his rhythm is the sight LSG want to see at the moment. Makes batting look effortless! Slightly overpitched, on off, Miller swats it straight down the track, over the bowler for a boundary.

13.3One more full toss, outside off, Miller chips this over covers. The ball races towards the ropes but Naman Dhir covers good ground to his left from sweeper and gets there with a dive, saving the boundary. Two runs taken. 88 more needed from 39 balls.

13.2Another full toss, around middle and leg, David Miller works this through square leg for a couple.

13.1On the pads, worked through mid-wicket for a single.

In the IPL, Badoni bats at number 5 or lower but he can be promoted to number 4, where he averages 69.4 in T20s, with a strike rate of 136. Change of ends for Corbin Bosch. 1-0-6-0 so far.

12.6FOUR! Top shot! Ends the over well, does David Miller! 11 runs come off it. Quicker one, full and on middle and leg again, David Miller clears his front leg out and tonks it over the bowler for a boundary.

12.5Lovely ball. Darts this very full, on middle and leg, David Miller can only dig it back to the bowler.

12.4Tossed up, on off, David Miller lifts it over the leaping cover fielder for a brace.

12.3That is a beauty. Tossed up, outside off, Miller comes forward to defend but the ball lands and then whizzes past the outside edge.

12.2MISFIELD, FOUR! Did Surya lose the ball in the lights? Flighted, around off, David Miller stays leg side of the ball and chips this towards long off. Suryakumar Yadav charges onto the ball for the catch but then, stops abruptly. Eventually, the ball drops in front of him and goes past him to the ropes. His reactions seemed to indicate that he just lost the ball at the last moment. 99 more needed from 46 balls.

12.1Short, outside off, Ayush Badoni rocks back and heaves it towards deep mid-wicket for a single.

Against LSG, Boult has bowled well in the past, with 9 wickets at an average of 18.7. Will Jacks is back on. 1-0-7-2 so far.

11.6End of an excellent over! Just 3 runs and a wicket of it. Back of a length, on off and middle, Ayush Badoni cuts it to deep backward point for one.

11.5Back of a length, on off, Miller rises with the bounce and cuts it to deep point for a single to get off the mark.

11.4Attacking the stumps, on a good length, David Miller taps it to mid off.

11.3Around off, fuller, probably a bit of tail in? A watchful Miller pushes it towards mid off.

Surely, this is Miller time? Finally. In he comes, replacing Nicholas Pooran as the impact sub.

11.2OUT! CAUGHT! Boult provides the breakthrough! A short ball, around off, but excellent change of pace. Mitchell Marsh lines up for the pull shot but the ball kind of holds onto the surface. As a result, it arrives late and causes a miscue off the top portion of the bat. The ball hovers in the air near deep square leg where Tilak Varma completes a simple catch. The 46-run stand is broken and Marsh departs for 34 (24). He was struggling post the Powerplay and has been rid of his misery. Lucknow Super Giants are 110/4 and need another 106 from 52 balls.

11.1On a length, around off, angling away, Ayush Badoni stays back and punches this behind point for a single.

In the previous match against MI, Marsh had made a commanding 60. Meanwhile, Hardik brings back Trent Boult. 1-0-9-0 so far.

10.6Very full, almost a perfect yorker with pace taken off, Ayush Badoni clips it in front of deep mid-wicket for a single. A good over from Corbin Bosch, just 6 runs off it.

10.5FOUR! Smartly done and a much-needed one for LSG! Full and on off, Ayush Badoni moves across this time and ramps it past fine leg to his right for a boundary.

10.4Sees the batter make some room and follows him with a back-of-a-length delivery, Ayush Badoni steers it to short third.

10.3On a length, outside off, Ayush Badoni punches this straight to cover.

10.2Full, around middle and leg, Marsh works this towards long on for a single.

10.1Lucky to get away with this. A loosener, down the leg side, Mitchell Marsh whips this straight to short fine leg. A metre either side of the fielder and it would have been a boundary.

Ayush Badoni has been batting well this season. In the last game, he scored a 21-ball 36, which helped LSG reach a score of 159. Badoni has been consistent in the last three seasons and scored 200 runs or more in each season. In fact, this season he has played with a better average and strike rate. Time to have a look at the bowling angle of the debutant now - Corbin Bosch.

9.6Floated full, on off, Ayush Badoni steps down the track and lofts it over covers for a couple of runs. 20 off this over and LSG rack 30 off the last two overs.

9.5FOUR! Ayush Badoni is on a roll! 100 up for LSG! Karn Sharma slows it up, drops it short and way outside off, Ayush Badoni reaches for it and cuts it past deep point to his left for another boundary.

9.4Hit nicely but straight to the fielder. Tossed up, on middle and leg, Mitchell Marsh sweeps it straight to deep square leg for just a single.

9.3Pushed through on the pads, Ayush Badoni milks this away towards long on for one.

9.2SUX! DELIGHTFUL! Badoni is such a pleasing batter to the eyes of the spectators. Tossed up again, around off this time. Ayush Badoni moves away again and lofts this inside out over cover for another biggie.

9.1SIX! Ayush Badoni surely bags a punch. Tossed up, over the eyelid of Badoni, around leg. Ayush Badoni moves away from the stumps and lofts this with the full face of his bat and with the spin for a biggie down the ground towards long off.

8.6Good end to the opening over for Hardik Pandya! Just 2 runs off the last 4 balls, while the first two went for 8. He drops it short and outside off, Mitchell Marsh presses ahead but seeing the length, drops his wrists and lets it pass. 10 runs off the over.

8.5Goes into the surface, does Hardik, angling it into the batter, on a length, Ayush Badoni cuts it to deep point for one.

8.4Fuller in length, in and around off, Mitchell Marsh eases it to deep cover for a single.

8.3Good length wide of off, Mitchell Marsh slashes hard at it but gets beaten.

8.2FOUR! Another one finds the fence and Hardik Pandya is travelling. Short and wide outside off, Mitchell Marsh gets onto his back foot and cuts this past the cover-point region for another boundary.

8.1FOUR! The MI skipper is greeted with a boundary. Back of a length at a gentle pace, Mitchell Marsh hops up with the bounce and pulls this flat and through mid-wicket for a boundary towards the cow corner.

Chairperson and founder of the Reliance Foundation, Dhirubhai Ambani International School and a director of Reliance Industries, Ms Nita Ambani is up for a chat with Harsha Bhogle. On being asked about the match, Ms. Ambani says that this is not just a match. It is a celebration of hope, dreams and joy. Adds that it is MI's most-awaited match day of the entire season. Details that looking at the atmoshphere gives her thrills, with 19,000 children, coming from humble backgrounds, having a big experience to see a live match in a stadium. Adds that it is really overwhelming to see how the children are enjoying themselves. Also says that many of the Indian players have played for India and come from humble backgrounds. Feels that these kids can also dream about being what the players are today. Informs that one girl wants to be Jasprit Bumrah, while another wants to just shake hands with Rohit Sharma. Says that if their hopes and aspirations can be fulfilled, they can reach the stars. Is confident that this will be a cherished memory for a long time. On being asked about the ESA, Ms. Ambani says that the heart of the ESA is education and sports for all. Explains that children learn as much in a classroom as much in a sports field. Adds that today is a day of dream and hopes. Feels that one of them can become a Harmanpreet Kaur, or one can become a Rohit or someone can become a sports presenter cum anchor like Harsha Bhogle. Feels that with support and help, all children can reach the stars. Informs us that 19000 children have come today, with so many supervisors, 500 buses and maybe 1 lakh meals, citing the feedback from many that they loved the delicious food! Ends by saying that this match means a lot and is very very dear to her.

7.6Tossed up, on off, Ayush drives it straight to cover. Good start from Karn Sharma! Just 6 runs off his first over.

7.5Short and turning away, from around off, Mitchell Marsh punches it through cover. Suryakumar Yadav does well in the deep to keep it down to just one.

7.4Loops it nice and full, on middle and leg, Ayush Badoni steps out, while making room and pushes it to deep cover for a single.

7.3Badoni makes room and beautifully drives the flighted delivery straight down the ground between extra cover and sweeper cover for a couple of runs. Trent Boult makes a diving stop, diving to his right, preventing a boundary.

7.2A googly from the bowler, full and on the leg stump. Mitchell Marsh goes to flick it, but the ball turns more than expected, missing his bat on the inside edge. The ball then deflects off his front pad to the short third fielder. A single taken, leg bye signalled.

7.1Floated wide of off, Ayush Badoni hops up on his toes and punches this through cover for a single.

6.6A bit fuller than a length, on middle, Ayush Badoni sweeps it to deep backward square leg for one.

6.5Keeps it short and slanting into middle and leg, Marsh turns it behind to deep backward square leg for a single.

6.4Full, on middle and off, Ayush Badoni nudges it to deep mid-wicket for a single to get off the mark.

Now, is it time for the impact substitute? Still no. Ayush Badoni walks out at number 5, replacing his skipper, Rishabh Pant.

6.3OUT! The poor run of games continues for Pant. Tossed up around middle and leg, Rishabh Pant opts to go for the reverse sweep but he gets cramped for room to play this as this was dished closer to the batter. Pant ends up helping this into the hands of Karn Sharma at short third for a regulation catch.

6.2FOUR! A boundary to begin the innings for Rishabh Pant, not the most convincing though. Short of a length around off, Rishabh Pant looks to cut this through point but gets it edged and still manages to find the gap towards the right of short third for four runs.

Impact substitute time? Not yet. In comes skipper Rishabh Pant at number 4, replacing Nicholas Pooran.

6.1OUT! IN THE AIR AND GONE! CAUGHT! MI return the favour to LSG by picking up a wicket right after the break. Tossed up, turning away from Nicky P around his off stump. Pooran looks to clear the fence down the ground but doesn't get enough power to take it sailing over the fielder at long off. Suryakumar Yadav, donning the Orange Cap, moves swiftly to his left, dives and holds onto this catch. Nicholas Pooran departs right outside the Powerplay.

STRATEGIC TIMEOUT. Almost a mirror image of the first innings. Digvesh Singh conceded 19 in the final over of the Powerplay during LSG's bowling and Rishabh Pant called for a timeout immediately after the 6th over. Deepak Chahar goes for 20 in the final over of the fielding restrictions and Hardik Pandya has done the same here. Nothing much to choose between the two sides at this point - LSG are 60/1, while MI were 66/1. Actually, it has not been a bad bowling effort from MI. Out of 60, Deepak Chahar has gone for 38, but that too, 20 came in one over. Lucknow possess a deep batting lineup, but if truth be told, their batting has been revolving only around the top 3. If they are to chase this down, they would need the likes of Miller, Pant and Badoni to fire, with one batter batting deep. Time for spin. Here's Will Jacks.

5.6A good ball to conclude the over that goes for 20 runs. Lucknow Super Giants end the Powerplay at 60/1! Very full, on middle, Pooran nudges it to long on for a single.

5.5SIX! Nicholas Pooran is taking Deepak Chahar apart! DC goes short and on middle, Nicholas Pooran nails his pull shot, over mid-wicket for the third six on the trot.

5.4SIX! A replica of the previous shot! You cannot keep Nicholas Pooran quiet for too long, can you? Deepak Chahar misses his mark and serves a low full toss, outside off, Nicholas Pooran slices it over deep point for six more.  50 UP FOR LSG! 163 more needed from 86 balls.

5.3SIX! That's what Pooran can do and is expected to do. Attempted wide yorker, Nicholas Pooran converts this into a full toss, opens the face of his bat and slices this beyond the reach of deep backward point, to his left for six runs.

5.3WIDE! Full and wide outside off. Lands on the other strip but behind the stumps and the umpire signals wide. Wided.

5.2Too full, on off. Nicholas Pooran hammers this rolling to mid off for no run. Mitchell Marsh at the other end was looking for a single but denied rightly so by Pooran.

5.1Is this pressure telling on Nicholas Pooran? Only time will tell. Good length wide outside off, not too far away from the off stump. Pooran gives it a mighty heave but fails to get any part of his bat at the ball. The ball whiskers past the off pole back to the keeper.

Marsh had a contrasting start to his IPL 2025 campaign. Started with 4 fifties in his first 5 innings but scored just 79 runs in his last 3 innings.

4.6Outside off, pushed through mid on for one more. 11 from the over, Bumrah's figures read 2-0-13-1.

4.5Excellent yorker, around off, similar to the one which got rid of Marsh in the previous game, against Mukesh Kumar. This time, the Bison is watchful and pushes it through mid on for a single.

4.4OOPSY, nearly a no ball! A high full toss, on middle takes Pooran by surprise as he somehow manages to pull it away through square leg for a single. No signal from the umpire, no review from the batter either.

4.4WIDE. Full and fast, but down the leg side, Nicholas Pooran misses his flick.

4.3Another slower one, good length this time. Mitchell Marsh gets an inside edge through square leg for a single.

4.2Clever from Bumrah as he takes all the pace off this one. Slower one, back of a length, around off. Mitchell Marsh looks to pull this one but plays for the pace on and this being a slower one, arrives late.

4.1SIX! MONSTROUS! Good length, angling into the batter. Mitchell Marsh was up for it as he settled well within his popping crease and gave it a proper whack. The ball flies out of the middle of Marsh's bat and is deposited into the stands towards the deep mid-wicket region.

In the previous game, Chahar had figures of 4-0-12-2 - which was his best economical spell in his IPL career.

3.6FOUR! JUST SHORT! A short ball, around middle, Pooran swivels and pulls it towards deep square leg. The fielder in the deep, Naman Dhir, charges forward for the catch but the ball dips and lands just in front of him. He is unable to stop the ball and it goes past his hand, deflecting into the fence, to his left.

3.5Overpitched, around off, driven straight to cover.

3.4Massive appeal for a caught behind! Only by the bowler. The keeper does not look too excited. Turned down by the umpire. Hardik is asking about the review, but gets no support. A short ball, around the rib cage, around leg stump, Nicholas Pooran looks to pull it away but misses. The replay shows that the ball hit his chest and went to the keeper.

3.3Good length, on off. Nicholas Pooran gives a lot of respect to Chahar as he defends this off his front foot.

3.2On a length around off, Mitchell Marsh pushes this gently across the carpet to long off for one.

3.1FOUR! Full toss, wide outside off. Mitchell Marsh drills this wide to the right of mid off, leaving no chance for the fielder to field this as the ball races away to the fence for four.

Marsh has batted at a strike rate of 180 against pacers - the best for any batter in the tournament (Min. 100 balls).

2.6Full, down the leg side, worked through square leg for a couple, to get off the mark. Just 2 runs and a wicket from Boom Boom's opener.

2.5Full, around off, pushed to the off side.

Nicholas Pooran walks in next at number 3, replacing Aiden Markram.

2.4OUT! CAUGHT! Excellent timing, but that brings about Markram's downfall! History made at the Wankhede as JASPRIT BUMRAH BECOMES THE LEADING WICKET TAKER FOR MUMBAI INDIANS IN THE IPL! Gets his 171st scalp, which takes him beyond Lasith Malinga, one of the all-time greats. Coming to the ball, it is a length ball, around off and Aiden Markram shows the excellent quality of his wrists. He just works this beautifully and does not bother to keep it down. But to his dismay, the ball travels sweetly and straight to the lone man at deep mid-wicket! Naman Dhir makes no mistake and Bumrah has his hands aloft, with a smile. Markram, who was looking good, departs for 9 (11) and Lucknow Super Giants are 18/1, needing another 198 from 104 balls.

2.3Good length, wide outside off, Aiden Markram defends this around off for no run. Pressure telling on Aiden Markram as he is looking restless out in the middle.

2.2OUCH! That must have hurt Markram. Slower one, coming sharply back into the batter. Aiden Markram walks down and away and looks to tuck this towards the mid-wicket region, but he gets outfoxed by the lack of pace and gets beaten on the inside edge. He is in some pain as the ball crashes just under his abdomen.

2.1Back of a length, drifting down leg. Aiden Markram walks in and looks to flick this through square leg but misses and gets hit on the thigh pad.

Both, Boult and Chahar have taken more than 200 wickets in the IPL collectively and are known for their early swing bowling. But we see an early bowling change. Jasprit Bumrah has been called upon early today.

1.6Outside off, punched towards mid off for a quick single. There is an overthrow at the bowler's end but Markram is flat on the ground, having put in the dive to complete the single. Excellent comeback by Chahar. 6 off the first ball, then a no ball. Just 2 off the remaining 5 deliveries.

1.5On a good length, around off, coming in with the angle, Aiden Markram looks to defend but at the last moment, the ball moves away, squaring Markram up. Manages to push it towards short third. That was the knuckle ball from Chahar.

1.4Around off, watchfully defended.

The camera pans on the MI dugout and one can see Suryakumar Yadav sitting there. Probably he is taking a breather, having batted for so long in the afternoon heat. Wonder how would the LSG batters be feeling, after spending more than the time spent by SKY, on the field.

1.3Full toss outside off, Mitchell Marsh thumps this over the bowler towards the right of mid off for a single.

1.2Marsh fails to make the most of the Free Hit. Yorker on off, Mitchell Marsh can only dig it out towards cover.

1.2NO BALL! Too full on off, Mitchell Marsh drills this to mid on for no run. Hang on, the sound of the buzzer in the background means trouble for Deepak Chahar as he has overstepped. Free Hit up next.

1.1SIX! GIGANTIC FROM MARSH! On a length down leg, Mitchell Marsh leans into it and picks it up, deposits this on top of the roof of the stadium towards deep square with a flick for a six. This was purely timed right out of the middle of Marsh's bat.

Boult and Chahar have been the frontline pacers for MI this season, having picked up 18 wickets collectively. Here's Deepak Chahar from the other end.

0.6Well done. Perfect line and length, on a good length just around off, angling away, Aiden gets right behind the ball and defends.

0.5FOUR MORE! The length changes but the line doesn't. Result, the same! Boult pulls the length back a touch but delivers more width outside off. Markram stands tall and punches this through the gap between cover and point again, for consecutive boundaries. 207 more needed from 115 balls.

0.4FOUR! BEAUTY! First boundary of the run chase. Early present from Trent Boult. Wide half volley, outside off, Aiden Markram leans, gets to the pitch of the ball and drives it crisply through the covers. Fine way to get off the mark.

0.3Fires this full and wide on off, Aiden Markram smashes this all along the carpet to mid off for no run.

0.2Marsh is off the blocks. On a length around the pads, Mitchell Marsh flicks this towards deep square for a single to kickstart his innings.

0.1Comes round the wicket, lands it on a good length and angling sharply back into the batter. Mitchell Marsh misses out on the flick and wears it on his pads. There is a bit of an LBW appeal but without much conviction. Probably going down leg.
