Within the next two to three weeks, the new primary sponsor of the Indian cricket team will be revealed, according to Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman Arun Dhumal. After Dream11 terminated its contract owing to the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025, the search for a new jersey sponsor got underway.
At the moment, Team India is competing in the Asia Cup without a primary sponsor. By sending out an invitation for expressions of interest for the national team's main sponsorship rights earlier in September, the BCCI began the search for a new sponsor. This invitation will be available for purchase on September 12, and bids must be placed by September 16. The dates of the Asia Cup are September 9–28.

Since Dream11's main business was real-money gambling, a new sponsor was required after the Indian government recently passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gambling Bill, which outlaws real-money gaming. As a result, Dream11 notified the BCCI that it had to back out of the sponsorship agreement, which contained an exit mechanism for such laws. According to media sources, Dream11's deal was for 44 million USD (about Rs 358 crore) and was in effect until 2026.
“I think what is done is done (on Dream 11’s exit). I would not like to talk about that. But we have started the ball rolling as far as the next sponsor is concerned. I am sure within 2-3 weeks we will get to know that," Dhumal told reporters on Friday, on the sidelines of the PlayCom 2025 summit.
At its AGM, which is set for September 28 at the board's Mumbai headquarters, the BCCI will elect new office-bearers in addition to finalizing a new sponsor.

“For sure, we have the nomination starting in a week. So we will get to know. We will have a better picture as to who is going to be the next BCCI chief," added Dhumal.
