Right then, that is it from this rather one-sided affair where the Rajasthan Royals keep the Chennai Super Kings at the bottom. Next up is a huge clash in the context of playoffs qualification as Mumbai Indians take on Delhi Capitals on 21st May, Wednesday in Wankhede. That will begin at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT), but as you know, you can join us early for all the build-up to the match. Until then, cheers and goodbye!

Akash Madhwal is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his excellent bowling spell.

Sanju Samson, the victorious skipper of Rajasthan Royals, says that it feels good to win the last game, and they did think about setting a target rather than risk the chase at one stage. Mentions that they have a young bowling lineup which is missing a couple of key bowlers, but it was brilliant to see the likes of Madhwal performing. Further adds that Madhwal worked very closely with Shane Bond, and eventually that has provided dividends. Mentions that it is difficult to win IPL because the game keeps changing, and even without a real difference in quality of the sides, the little things matter, and they will look to come back stronger. On young Vaibhav, he says that he has no words for him, especially that century in Jaipur, and it isn't slogging, it's proper batting, and even in this game, he showed great maturity in the middle overs.

Presentation Time...

Yashasvi Jaiswal is up for a quick chat. He says that the match has been pretty good for them, and he has enjoyed his batting out there. Adds that there have been a couple of injuries in the team, and the addition of Sanju Samson was a huge boost for them in these last matches. States that they will take good confidence from these wins going forward. Mentions that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played really well, a mature inning and carried himself very well, even after the Powerplay, and it has been amazing to see him batting throughout the tournament. Further adds that the bowlers bowled really well in the death overs in the first inning, and they have made their strategies, which they executed perfectly there.

MS Dhoni, the CSK skipper, says that looking at the amount of runs they had in the Powerplay was impressive, but then the wickets column was on the negative side. Adds that the way Dewald Brevis played, it breathed new life into their innings, but they could have done better in the death overs. On Anshul Kamboj, Dhoni says that he is someone who can get a bit of movement and also can spear in those yorkers and is pleased to see him do well in the tough overs. On the next generation of players, Dhoni says that consistency is key and goes on to say that these guys can get the big hit at any stage of the game, and they need to back themselves and try and finish games off.

Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, once again struggled to execute their plans with the ball - a recurring theme in what's been a forgettable season. Anshul Kamboj provided an early breakthrough, but they couldn’t capitalise on it. The spinners couldn’t create much pressure either, and though Ravichandran Ashwin and Noor Ahmad picked up three wickets between them, the damage had already been done. It was another disappointing outing for the Men in Yellow, capping off a season they'd rather forget.

Earlier in the game, CSK managed to put up a competitive total, thanks to crucial contributions from Ayush Mhatre, Brevis, and Dube. However, they couldn’t quite shift gears in the death overs and fell short of the explosive finish they would’ve hoped for. Yudhvir impressed with the ball, claiming three important wickets, while Hasaranga kept things tight in the middle overs with a tidy spell and a crucial scalp. Deshpande added one to his tally, and Madhwal wrapped things up with a fine three-wicket haul to keep the CSK batters in check.

The Rajasthan Royals openers got off to a blazing start, with Jaiswal setting the tone early with a brisk 36. After his dismissal, it was young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who stepped up, forging a brilliant 98-run partnership with skipper Sanju Samson. The teenager continued his fine form with another classy fifty, but both he and Samson fell in the same over, causing a few jitters in the dugout. However, Dhruv Jurel stepped up when it mattered, playing a fiery cameo to guide RR home comfortably, finally breaking their jinx while chasing.

Rajasthan Royals cruise to a commanding victory! They've done the double over Chennai Super Kings this season, and for the first time ever, the Men in Yellow are staring at a bottom-place finish in IPL history.

17.1SIX! GAME, SET AND MATCH! Dhruv Jurel finishes in some style, and the Rajasthan Royals have registered a win in their last match by six wickets in the IPL 2025! Slightly full and around middle, Dhruv Jurel gets low a bit and slogs it over the deep mid-wicket fence for a biggie. This is a thumping win for the Royals with 17 balls to spare.

16.6SIX! PUMPED! Ashwin tosses it up now and keeps it around off, Shimron Hetmyer dances down the track and launches it over the wide long on fence for a biggie. RR just need 6 runs now.

16.5FOUR! DEFT TOUCH! Ashwin darts in full but errs in the line as he goes down the leg side, Shimron Hetmyer presses back and just gets some bat on it, which was needed, and plays it very finely. The ball goes over the ropes at deep fine leg for a boundary.

16.4Quicker, flat, on a tempting length and around middle, Dhruv Jurel goes back and punches it to long on for a single.

16.3SIX! Bang, goes Dhruv Jurel! Darted in full and towards leg stump, Jurel just gets inside the line and smokes it over deep mid-wicket for a biggie.

16.2Flatter one, angled in towards middle and leg, Jurel stays back and taps it to mid-wicket.

16.1Bowled relatively full and outside off, Hetmyer leans on and strokes it through extra cover for one.

Ravichandran Ashwin will bowl out here.

15.6Dragged length at the stumps, Hetmyer works it off the back foot and through mid-wicket for an easy single.

15.5Beaten! Fired in quicker and around off, staying a bit low, Shimron Hetmyer backs away to cut but misses.

15.5FIVE WIDES! Oh, that's poor from Noor Ahmad! Tossed up, but quicker and down the leg side, darting further down. Shimron Hetmyer misses the nudge and the ball skips quickly past MS Dhoni into the fine leg fence for 5 extra runs.

Shimron Hetmyer is the new batter in.

15.4OUT! TIMBER! Another twist in the tale? Noor Ahmad tosses the ball up a bit full and hangs it slightly outside off. Riyan Parag thinks it is the googly that is going to turn away, and reaches out to play with the spin. However, the ball holds its line and takes the inside edge before crashing into the stumps, and the CSK spinners are keeping their side with an outside chance here. RR now 4 down for 158, still needing 30 runs.

15.4Wide! Quicker one, just sliding down the leg side, Parag fails to work it away and a wide is called.

15.3Length ball on middle and leg, worked away from the crease and through mid-wicket for a single.

15.2FOUR! Jurel has done brilliantly to take the sting out after those couple of quick wickets. Too full and around leg, Jurel sits down and just paddles it really fine for a boundary.

15.1Fractionally short and angled across off, Dhruv Jurel rocks back and powers the pull wide enough of deep mid-wicket for a couple of runs.

14.6A bit fuller and around off, punched off the front foot and down to long off for a sensible single. The 150 comes up for RR and they now need 38 off 30 balls.

14.5FOUR! Releasing the pressure! Slightly short again but down the leg side, Jurel flicks it off the pads and around the corner for a boundary now.

14.4SIX! On the shorter side and Dhruv Jurel latches onto it! This is bowled quick and over middle, Jurel hangs back and pulls it handsomely over deep mid-wicket for a biggie.

14.3Darted in at the stumps, quicker as well, Jurel jams it out.

14.2On a dragged length and around off, Dhruv Jurel rocks back to punch but can't get it wide enough to the right of the bowler.

14.1Fired in, a bit full and on off, Riyan Parag eases it down to long off for a single.

STRATEGIC BREAK! Rajasthan Royals are well ahead in this chase, as they need 50 runs in the last six overs, but they have lost two wickets in the last over, and that too of both set batters. Now, two new batters will be on the crease for them, and this is the phase where the Royals have faltered in many chases throughout the tournament. On the contrary, it was looking like a one-sided chase when Samson and Sooryavanshi were batting, but Ravichandran Ashwin brought CSK back in the game with two crucial strikes. Now, they need a couple more wickets and they will think to put more pressure on the batters of RR. Will the Royals go past this time and get a win, or will CSK register a win to avoid being last in the points table? The final interesting phase is ahead, and with that, Dhruv Jurel comes out to bat.

13.6OUT! TAKEN! Ravichandran Ashwin with a double whammy! He gets rid of both the set batters in this over, and just might have given a little bit of hope for his team. He slows it up, full and around middle, turns away a bit. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi clears his front leg out to slog it across the line but loses his shape completely. The ball takes the top edge and goes in the air towards point, where Ravindra Jadeja backtracks a bit and pouches it safely. VS departs after a fiery 57 off 33, and RR are 138/3. still needing 50 runs in 36 balls.

13.5Flighted, full and on leg, Riyan Parag clips it through backward square leg for one.

13.4Short and outside off, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi slaps it to extra covers for a run.

13.3Tossed up, full and on off, Riyan Parag eases it to long off for a single.

Riyan Parag comes out to bat at number four.

13.2OUT! TAKEN! Ravichandran Ashwin strikes a crucial blow for CSK! He bowls the carrom ball, shortish and on middle, turns away a bit. Sanju Samson moves back to swat it away but fails to control the shot and slices it high up in the air. This time Dewald Brevis at long on settles under it and takes a good catch. The huge 98-run stand has been broken, but RR are still well ahead in this chase.

13.1Tossed up, full and on leg, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi drills it towards long on for a single.

It is a double change here. Ravichandran Ashwin is brought back into the attack.

12.6FOUR! Easy pickings! Matheesha Pathirana serves a full toss down the leg side, Sanju Samson just glances it away wide of fine leg for another boundary. Rajasthan Royals need 54 runs in 42 balls now!

12.5In the blockhole, outside off, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi bunts it towards long on for one.

12.5Tries the slower bouncer, but down the leg side, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ducks under it. Wided.

12.4A slower yorker, on middle, Sanju Samson jams it out towards covers for another run.

12.3On a length and on leg, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi flicks it through square leg for a run.

12.2Back of a length and on off, Sanju Samson pats it towards covers for a single.

12.1FOUR! Oh..that is a fine shot! Fuller one and angling into the pads. Sanju Samson gently flicks it but times it so well that it races away to the deep backward square leg fence for a boundary.

Change? Yes, Matheesha Pathirana is back into the attack.

11.6Flatter, short and on middle, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi guides it to backward point.

11.5SIX! FIFTY FOR SOORYAVANSHI! He gets to it with a bang as well! Noor Ahmad drags his length back, on middle. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi moves back and pulls it away powerfully over the deep square leg fence for a biggie. Another eye-catching knock from the youngster, and he has shown good batting awareness along with his power in this inning.

11.5Beauty! A googly, full and on middle, turns in sharply, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi gets stuck in his crease and tries to push it but gets an inside edge onto his pads. Uh..oh! Noor has overstepped here. It is called a No Ball, and a Free Hit is up next...

11.4Short again and outside off, Sanju Samson slices it over point for another run.

11.3Flatter, short and around off, Sanju Samson goes for the reverse sweep but misses.

11.2Floated, full and on leg, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi eases it to long on for a single.

11.1Shorter in length, on leg, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi nudges it wide of deep mid-wicket for a brace.

10.6Quicker, short and on off, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi slaps it on the bounce to long of for one.

10.5SIX MORE! Even bigger this time! Flighted, full and around off. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi this time gets right underneath it and launches it high and handsomely over the wide long on fence for another biggie.

10.4Short again and on off, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi punches it to extra covers.

10.3SIX! That is outta here! Flatter, shortish and outside off, angling in, not that short though. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi waits for it on the back foot and dispatches it over the long on fence for a biggie into the second tier. 100 up for RR!

10.2Floated, full and around off, Sanju Samson goes inside out and lofts it over extra covers for a run.

10.1Short and outside off, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi cuts it away to deep point for a single.

9.6Short once more, on leg, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi eases it to long on for one more.

9.5Goes short and on middle and leg, Sanju Samson flicks it through square leg for one.

9.4Slows it up, full and on middle, Sanju Samson backs away and pushes it back to the bowler.

9.3A bit short and on off, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi punches it to long off for a run.

9.2Fires one full and on leg, Sanju Samson clips it through mid-wicket for a single.

9.1SIX! Superb start after the break! Flatter, full and angling into the pads. Sanju Samson goes down on one knee and nails the slog sweep. He loses his balance but gets plenty on that one as it flies over the deep square leg fence for a biggie. Also, 50 runs come up for this partnership.

Strategic Break! Rajasthan Royals are cruising through the chase at the moment. Just one wicket down for 85 runs. And with a further 103 required in the next 11 overs, more often than not, you'd go with the batting side. However, CSK have plenty of overs of spin left, and if their spin trio can string a few good overs together, things could change pretty quickly. Let's see how the middle phase pans out.

8.6Goes fuller but well outside off, slower too, Sanju Samson reaches out and drills it through extra covers for a run.

8.5Back of a length and on off, Sanju Samson dabs it to point.

8.4Pitched up and around off, Sanju Samson drives it to covers.

8.3On a length and on middle, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi works it to long on for a run.

8.2Right in the blockhole, on middle, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi blocks it out.

8.1Good length and on off, Sanju Samson opens the face of the bat and steers it towards third man for a single.

7.6FOUR! No chance for the fielder this time! Flighted, full and on off again, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi crouches low, extends his arms and carves it wide of deep point for four more runs.

7.5FOUR! Good effort but in vain! Tossed up, full and around off. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi leans on to his drive nicely and creams it through covers. The ball races through the surface as Anshul Kamboj in the deep runs to his left and dives, but parries it to the fence for a boundary.

7.4SIX! SHORT AND PUNISHED! Noor Ahmad bowls a half-tracker, on middle. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi quickly rocks back, swivels and whacks it over the deep square leg fence for a biggie.

7.2Quicker, short and on middle, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi mistimes his pull on the bounce towards long on for a run.

7.1Short and outside off, Sanju Samson punches it through covers for a single.

6.6Is that a chance? Looked like one, but a tough one too. Quicker, short and around leg, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi tries to flick it away but gets a slight nick behind, where MS Dhoni only manages to parry it to short fine.

6.5Slows it up, full and on middle, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi steers it to point.

6.4Goes short and on middle, Sanju Samson pulls it to wide of long on for a run.

6.3SIX! Just over! Tossed up, full and around middle, spins away a bit. Sanju Samson goes for the big slog but gets it from the bottom of the bat. The ball goes high up in the air and Dewald Brevis from long on runs to his left, but only to watch it sail over his head for a biggie.

4.4FOUR! GLORIOUS! Very full and around off, Sanju Samson just comes forward a touch and shows a full face of the bat to loft it. He just times it perfectly as the ball goes over the head of the bowler to the boundary. Such a delight to watch this stroke!

4.3Full and around off, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi drills it to the left of mid on and takes a single.

4.2FOUR! IN BETWEEN THE KEEPER AND SLIP! On a hard length and outside off, the ball seems to stick to the surface a bit. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi looks to defend it with an open bat face but gets a big outside edge. The ball goes in the gap between the keeper and the first slip fielder for a boundary. Neither makes any attempt to go after the ball.

4.1On the pads, and on a good length, Samson flicks it aerially towards deep backward square leg for a single.

3.6On a hard length and around middle, Samson uses his wrists to turn it to the left of mid on and takes a single to get off the mark.

3.5Nagging length and around off, Sanju Samson drops it down to cover.

Sanju Samson walks out to bat at number 3.

3.4OUT! KNOCKED HIM OVER! Anshul Kamboj gets the big wicket, and the quick cameo of Yashasvi Jaiswal comes to an end as he goes for 36(19). On a good length and around off, gets it to move away a bit. Jaiswal clears out his front leg, gives himself room, and looks to slog it to the leg side. He misses the line of the ball, seems to lose his balance, and thus the ball goes past the bottom part of his bat and hits the top of the off stump. A dream wicket for the bowler, and RR are 37/1.

3.3FOUR! JUST OVER! Much fuller again and around off, Yashasvi Jaiswal remains deep rooted in his crease and just lofts it. He gets it off the bottom part of the bat and goes towards mid off, where Ravichandran Ashwin goes backtracking it but the ball just evades him and goes over the ropes.

Khaleel Ahmed switches it to around the wicket and bowls it on a length and around off, Jaiswal stands tall this time and lofts it over the mid off fielder for a boundary. He doesn't get it from the middle of the bat but the ball goes over the fielder very easily.

2.2FOUR! THRASHED! Hits the deck hard, does Khaleel and bowls it wide outside off, Yashasvi Jaiswal backs away, gives himself room, and cuts it hard in the gap through point for a boundary.

2.1Back of a length and touch outside off, Yashasvi Jaiswal gets an underedge as he goes to cut it to the slip fielder.

1.4SIX! SHOT OF THE NIGHT, MAYBE! Touch full and in that channel outside off, Yashasvi Jaiswal stands tall and lofts it inside out over cover for a biggie. He has hit this with so seamlessly, like from the middle of the bat.

1.3Goes full and follows the batter, outside leg, Yashasvi Jaiswal dances down the track and looks to slog it but misses and wears it on the front pad. Seems it to be a slower one and Jaiswal has got deceived in that.

1.2Tempting length and a tight line, around off, Yashasvi Jaiswal drops it down towards mid off.

1.1BEATEN! Hard lengtha and outside off, seaming away, Yashasvi Jaiswal comes forward to drive but misses and gets beaten on the outside edge.

0.5Keeps it fuller and around middle, tries to get it to swing back in again, Yashasvi Jaiswal manages to flick it this time towards mid on and takes a quick single.

0.4Full and around middle, seaming in, Yashasvi Jaiswal looks to flick it but gets an inside edge onto his pad again. The ball rolls away to backward point.

0.3BEAUTY! On a dragged length and outside off, gets it to swing away from the batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal looks to drive it on the up but gets beaten on the outside edge.

0.2Goes full and swings back in again, around middle, Yashasvi Jaiswal plays all over it and gets an inside edge onto his pad. There is a mild appeal for LBW but is turned down.

0.1FOUR! Rajasthan Royals and Yashasvi Jaiswal are underway in this chase with a streaky boundary but they won't mind it all! Khaleel starts with a hard-length ball, around middle and leg, swings back in. Jaiswal instantly looks to swipe it across but gets cramped up for room and manages to get it from his gloves. The ball goes to the right of the diving keeper and to the deep fine leg fence for a boundary. This will go as a half-chance.
