India vs Bangladesh, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Rohit Sharma-led Team India are ready to start their ICC Champions Trophy campaign as they take on Bangladesh in the first match. It is a day-night affair, which starts from 2:30 pm IST on Thursday at the Dubai International Stadium. (Follow: Champions Trophy 2025, IND vs BAN Live Score Updates)

The focus will remain on India's senior pros Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The duo were back among the runs in the recently-concluded series against England and will look to build on the momentum. While Kohli managed a half-century in the final ODI, Rohit smashed a match-winning ton in Cuttack.

However, the challenge will be a bit tough given any hiccups can change the whole league stage equation quite dramatically. Apart from them Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer displayed sensational form, a positive sign for India as they eye their third Champions Trophy.

However, the bowling line-up does pose some question, given Jasprit Bumrah is unavailable due to back injury, which he sustained during India's tour of Australia. Mohammed Shami, who has made a return after a long injury layoff, will spearhead India's pace department. However, the seasoned cricketer is yet to hit his mojo and the team will hope the pacer fires in the Champions Trophy.

Shami will be assisted by the seam duo of Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana, who are relatively inexperienced. They have played 11 ODIs between them, making the Indian pace attack appear a bit weak as compared to other departments. The team, however, is loaded with spin options as five spinners have traveled with the team to Dubai.

India vs Bangladesh Pitch Report

The Dubai International Stadium pitch is predicted to assist the quicks and Shami will have a huge role to play. His variations and the ability to generate movement will come handy against the Bangladesh batters. Despite this, the Men In Blue are likely to stick with three spinners and two pacers, considering there will be some support for the slow bowlers in the latter half of the match.

India vs Bangladesh Weather Report

As per AccuWeather, the day is expected to remain overcast. The temperature in the morning will hover around 26 degrees and will increase as the day progresses. The cloud cover is expected to remain in place in the evening as well but the temperature is predicted to drop to 23 degrees.
