Aryan Maan of the RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Friday was officially elected President of Delhi University’s central students’ body, securing victory in DUSU polls 2025 over his rival, NSUI candidate Joslyn Nandita Choudhary.
In the manifesto, Maan has promised subsidised metro passes, free Wi-Fi across campus, accessibility audits for persons with disabilities, and better sports facilities.
Hailing from Bahadurgarh, Haryana, Maan is a graduate of Hansraj College and is currently pursuing an MA in Library Science at Delhi University. Over the years, he has been actively involved in ABVP-led student movements, including campaigns against fee hikes and initiatives aimed at improving university infrastructure. Maan is also an active football player.
New face of DU politics
With his win, Maan has now become the face of a new generation of ABVP leaders at DU. His victory also underscores the continued dominance of ABVP in the polls, despite strong challenges from NSUI and the Left-backed SFI-AISA alliance.
The RSS-affiliated ABVP bagged three posts in the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU), including the key post of president, restricting the Congress-backed NSUI to one post in the high-octane polls.
