Wipro Ltd's board of directors will consider a bonus issue of shares in the upcoming board meeting, which will be conducted on October 17, the company informed the exchanges on October 13.

The IT firm is also poised to announce its second quarter results and consider an issue of bonus shares in its board meeting scheduled on, October 17.

“The Board of Directors of the Company will be considering a proposal for issue of bonus shares, in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Companies Act, 2013 (including the rules and regulations framed thereunder), the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Issue of Capital and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2018, at its meeting scheduled to be held over October 16-17, 2024,” said the company in the exchange filing.

On Friday, Wipro shares closed 0.66 percent higher at Rs 528.45.

Wipro's 1st quarter net profit rose 4.6 percent from a year ago to Rs 3,003 crore, beating market expectations. The IT company’s April-June consolidated revenue fell 3.8 percent to Rs 21,964 crore.
