Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the seventh edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) on October 27 at the Bharat Mandapam convention centre in Delhi.
In his speech, PM Modi said that India's startup ecosystem has become increasingly important and is now among the top three in the world.
"Before 2014, India had 100 startups. Now, there are approximately 100,000 startups," he said.

To encourage startups, PM Modi announced that the India Mobile Congress had introduced the Aspire programme, aimed at supporting Indian startups in their growth journey. "Over the past decade, India has witnessed a significant increase in startups, with the number now reaching into the hundreds of thousands," he said.

PM Modi also expressed confidence in India's youth, highlighting their entrepreneurial spirit, speed, and energy, and their potential to surprise the world with innovative solutions and products.

PM Modi also inaugurated 100 5G labs at well-known engineering colleges across India, including Karnataka, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
