Vacant industrial plots to be cancelled

The Uttar Pradesh government has directed the Noida Authority and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) to cancel the allotments of those industrial, institutional, and IT plots that have been lying vacant for a long time in their respective regions, officials familiar with the matter revealed.

The government has also instructed the authorities to survey such land parcels in their jurisdiction to ascertain the number of plots that were allotted to developers but have yet to be utilized, remaining vacant for an extended period.

A spokesperson from GNIDA stated that these directives were issued by Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Commissioner and Noida-Greater Noida Authority Chairman Manoj Kumar Singh after a meeting where he reviewed the allocations of IT, industrial, and institutional plots in the Noida-Greater Noida regions.

"The chairman emphasized that the allotments of IT, industrial, and institutional plots held by allottees who have kept the plots vacant for an extended period, without completing the construction of buildings, should be canceled," the spokesperson mentioned.

He added that the chairman further directed the authorities to conduct surveys to identify plots where a considerable time has elapsed since the allotment and the stipulated period for completing the projects has also ended. Authorities should take action to cancel the allotment of such plots, providing new opportunities for entrepreneurs. This move aims to facilitate investment in the Greater Noida region.

The meeting was organized to encourage IT, industry, and institutional investment in the Noida-Greater Noida region and to review the plot allocations of both authorities. GNIDA CEO NG Ravi Kumar and Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M, along with other senior officials, attended the meeting.

The chairman also issued instructions to establish special camps for issuing occupancy certificates (OC) to allottees who have completed construction work on their plots.
