HP India MD Ipsita Dasgupta buys Rs 22.52-crore apartment in Mumbai

Mumbai real estate update: The project, Artesia, is a standalone 45-storey tower with views of the Arabian Sea and the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.

Ipsita Dasgupta, the former Apple executive who was appointed managing director of HP India in October 2023, has purchased a 2,964 sq ft flat in Mumbai’s Worli area for Rs 22.52 crore. It was purchased from Gnext Hardware and Parks Pvt Limited of K Raheja Corp, registration documents accessed by proptech firm Zapkey.com showed.

The deal was registered on October 26. The flat comes with a 100 sq ft balcony and three car parking slots, according to the document.

Emails have been sent to K Raheja Corp and HP India seeking comment.

This is the same building where  the promoters of Mumbai-based real estate major K Raheja Corp had decided to retain possession of three floors of their ritzy project spread over 60,000 sq ft and worth Rs 426 crore. The project, Artesia, is a standalone 45-storey tower with views of the Arabian Sea and the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.

Maximum City has consistently seen a high level of churn in the residential property market. Over 1.04 lakh property registrations have been reported in the first 10 months of 2023. And there were several big-ticket deals among them. For instance, in August 2023, Surinder Chawla, managing director of Paytm Payments Bank, had bought a duplex flat with a carpet area of 2,516 in Indiabulls Sky Forest in Central Mumbai's Lower Parel for Rs 20 crore.

Homes worth Rs 43,000 crore were sold in Mumbai’s top 100 housing projects in 2022, a decline of about 2.5 percent from a year earlier, an analysis by Zapkey.com showed.

In 2021, property valued at Rs 44,300 crore were sold in 22,100 transactions in the top 100 projects, according to the data. In 2020 and 2021, large volumes of high-value inventory were sold soon after the first two waves of COVID-19, the analysis showed.
