Ex-Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan buys super-luxury apartment for Rs 69 crore at DLF’s Dahlias in Gurugram

Former cricketer and Indian cricket team opener Shikhar Dhawan has purchased an apartment at DLF’s latest super-luxury offering The Dahlias for Rs 69 crore in Gurugram, documents accessed by CRE Matrix, a real estate analytics firm showed.

According to documents, the super-luxury apartment measures 6,040 square feet and is located in The Dahlias at DLF5 Golf Links in Gurugram sector 54. The high-value property purchase was registered in the first week of February 2025 and Dhawan had to pay a stamp duty of Rs 3.28 crore.

The documents showed that the cost of the apartment is Rs 65.61 crore and the total cost including the stamp duty is Rs 68.89 crore. The super-luxury flat comes with five parking slots.

Documents also showed that the per square feet rate of said apartment on carpet area is Rs 1,14,068.61 while if computed on the super area then the per square feet rate is Rs 1,08,631, making the deal one of the costliest transactions in India.

Dhawan, the celebrated 'Gabbar' of Indian cricket, had announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in August 2024.

The left-handed batter had made his international debut in 2010 with an ODI against Australia in Visakhapatnam, and his final match for India was also a 50-over game, against Bangladesh in 2022. Over his career, Dhawan played 34 Tests, 167 ODIs, and 68 T20Is for India.

There was no immediate response available from Dhawan. The seller of the property DLF Limited refused to comment on the issue.

The Dahlias, which is touted to be the most expensive residential project in India, is located near its already established luxury venture ‘The Camellias’ on Golf Course Road at DLF Phase-5 in Gurugram. The Dahlias is coming up on a 17-acre land parcel and has a development potential of 7.5 million square feet.

The Dahlias spreads over 17 acres and offers around 420 super-luxury residences across 29 levels and eight towers. The DLF has offered 173 flats in the first phase, which is already sold out. Earlier, DLF had also sold two penthouses for Rs 150 crore each in The Dahlias.
