NSE, BSE to open for just 3 days next week amid stock market holidays

Stock markets in India will remain shut for two days to observe Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti and Good Friday.

Stock markets in India will be functional for just three days next week amid market holidays for the rest two days. All the trading in derivatives, equities, SLBs, currency derivatives, and interest rate derivatives will remain shut for these two days next week.

The stock market holidays are notified in advance and published annually by the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the BSE.

The exchanges notified a total of three stock market holidays for the month of April 2025. The first holiday this month was observed this week on Thursday, 10th April on the occasion of Shri Mahavir Jayanti.

Next week, the stock markets will be shut for two days to observe Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti and Good Friday.

Meanwhile, the investors and traders should note that October 21, 2025, Tuesday will be a trading holiday on account of Diwali Laxmi Pujan. Muhurat Trading will be conducted on that day. Timings of Muhurat Trading will be notified by the exchanges in a circular in October.

The trading on the equities segment takes place on all days of the week, except Saturdays and Sundays and holidays declared by the exchanges in advance.

MCX Holidays

This month, the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will remain shut for both the sessions on April 18 (Good Friday).

While on April 14, the exchange will shut just for the morning session, and will resume trading in the evening session between 5:00pm - 11:30 /11:55pm. The morning session of the exchange is conducted between 09:00am - 5:00pm.
