United Breweries Limited (UBL) has announced that the Heineken brand will now be brewed locally in Mysuru, Karnataka..
Vivek Gupta, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, United Breweries Limited, said, "we take pride to share that the Heineken brand will now be brewed locally in Karnataka at the Nanjangud Brewery in Mysuru."
"We are proud of our roots in Karnataka and our investments in the state further strengthens our supply chain capabilities, ensuring we continue to foster growth to the local economy and nurture the local communities," he added.
UBL also announced the availability of Heineken Silver in Karnataka along with Heineken Original, which will also be available from this month.
"Both the iconic beer variants will be available in leading retail outlets and pubs across Karnataka from this month," the company said in a stock exchange filing.
Bengaluru-headquartered United Breweries Limited is the largest beer manufacturer in India. Shares of the company settled 2.24 percent lower in August 20 trade at Rs 1,944 apiece on the NSE.
Earlier in April, Heineken, the world's second biggest brewer, said that India net revenues rose by 20 percent organically in the January to March period, driven by volume and positive price mix.
