In an interview to CNBC-TV18 Emanuele Norsa, Managing Editor Steel at Platts shared his views on the upbeat mood in the metals space.

Iron ore and steel are doing relatively well and there has been good run-up, he says, but notes that compared to 2013 or 2014 levels prices are still on the low side.

Below is the verbatim transcript of Emanuele Norsa's interview to Manisha Gupta on CNBC-TV18.

Q: What’s your sense on what really the metal space seems to be doing, because good numbers, bad numbers, stimulus or no stimulus this is one sector that has a lot of interest and money pouring in?

A: Well, absolutely particularly if we look at iron ore and steel side the market is doing relatively well as you said if we compare it to the beginning of this year. Of course, we have to remember on the lower side compared to the 2014 or 2013 level, but compare to the last couple of months it is being doing relatively.

Now this is supporting steel prices in particularly in China which you know is the biggest player and definitely this is bringing some positive momentum going into August at the moment.
