Hero MotoCorp will be launching its sporty scooter Hero Xoom in two variants by September, CEO Niranjan Gupta confirmed on May 8 in an exchange filing along with fourth quarter results.
The launches are aimed at boosting the scooter portfolio and help gain market share, the CEO said. "We will be driving market share gains on the back of our launches in premium and 125 cc segment done in FY 24. Further, we are going to boost scooter portfolio by launching Xoom 125 cc and Xoom 160 cc in first half of the fiscal."
Hero MotoCorp is betting on the coming year for 'big strides' in the EV space as well through launches in the mid and affordable segment, the statement added. "Overall, we see a very positive outlook for upcoming year", Niranjan Gupta said.
Hero MotoCorp has plans to introduce three electric two-wheeler models by next year – one in the mid-price segment, one in economy and one in the B2B last-mile delivery segment.
Hero MotoCorp had in January unveiled Surge S32 - its convertible electric three-wheeler - that can turn into a scooter. Along with it, the company has EV concept bikes - Lynx and Acro – and flex-fuel options for popular motorcycle models that it hopes will help drive volume.
