Vaya, an AI-powered astrology startup, has raised $1.5 million in a seed funding co-led by Accel and Arkam Ventures, with participation from Weekend Fund along with contributions from angel investors.
The funding will primarily be used to expand Vaya’s core team, enhance its AI technology, and build a strong community of Vedic astrology experts, the company said.
Moneycontrol had, last month, reported that a clutch of investors – including Accel – were in talks to invest in at least six artificial intelligence (AI) startups, including Vaya’s $1.5 million seed round.
Co-founded in 2025 by Maahin Puri and Nitesh Kumar Niranjan, Vaya works with a curated group of experienced astrologers and supports them with an AI engine that, it claims, decodes complex astrological variables.
The platform also maintains detailed consultation histories, allowing astrologers to build long-term advisory relationships with clients.
With this funding, the company aims to accelerate growth, targeting a $1 million annual run rate, having already grown 60 percent month-on-month in revenue since launch.
According to industry estimates, India’s spiritual market, valued at $58.56 billion in 2023, is projected to reach $127.8 billion by 2032. but remains largely unstructured and offline, with only 1.5% having transitioned to digital. While some platforms have gained traction, most consultations still occur through informal networks with little to no standardisation.
"Astrology holds deep significance in Indian society, influencing decisions across all walks of life — from the wealthiest families to local kirana shop owners — on matters as personal and high-stakes as marriage, relationships, and careers. Yet, the field remains largely traditional, fragmented, and lacking standardized practices and transparency,” said Maahin Puri, co-founder at Vaya.
“At Vaya, we are building a trusted platform to reimagine astrological guidance for the modern, digital-first Indian consumer — blending human intuition with the power of AI to make astrology more accessible, credible, and relevant," he added.
“Vaya is building in a space that is culturally foundational yet has seen little technological innovation. Maahin and Nitesh are building for a digital-first generation that increasingly seeks credible, accessible, and personalized guidance. As the broader spiritual and wellness tech sector gains momentum in India, we believe Vaya is creating a category-defining product with the potential to transform how astrology — and spiritual advisory at large — is experienced," said Manasi Shah, Vice President at Accel.
