GST on branded rice creates rift within industry

The GST council's decision to impose a 5 percent tax on branded cereals and completely exempting unbranded ones has led to a full blown war within the organised basmati rice industry. Brands are accusing each other of moving to circumvent the GST notification, and distorting the price-sensitive market, reports CNBC-TV18's Ronojoy Banerjee.
