Midcap IT company Mindtree will announce its second quarter (July-September) earnings on Wednesday. Analysts feel the growth is expected to be slower during the quarter compared to previous quarter as the company benefited from a large project roll-out in Q1FY15 (in the hi-tech vertical).
In fact the management had cautioned in the Q1 earnings call that Q2 revenue growth is likely to be strong though not as strong as Q1.
According to the average of the estimates of analysts polled by CNBC-TV18, profit after tax is expected to fall 1.2 percent sequentially to Rs 127.8 crore in the quarter ended September 2014 from Rs 129.4 crore in previous quarter.
Forex gain could be lower on quarter-on-quarter basis and this could result in profits being lower, say analysts. In Q1FY15, forex gain was Rs 13.7 crore.
Revenue may jump 5.86 percent quarter-on-quarter to Rs 893 crore during July-September quarter while dollar revenue is likely to increase 4.4 percent to USD 147.5 million from USD 141.3 million during the same period. In previous quarter, the company had reported a 6.4 percent growth in dollar revenue and volume growth of 6 percent.
Management in Q1 earnings call reiterated that it will beat NASSCOM’s industry growth forecast of 15 percent for FY15.
Analysts feel margin in September quarter is likely to be lower sequentially due to wage hike that may be partly offset by by growth and lower visa costs in Q2.
Operating profit or EBITDA is expected to be at Rs 176.5 crore in second quarter as against Rs 168.5 crore in previous quarter but margin may decline marginally to 19.76 percent from 19.97 percent during the same period. In Q1FY15, margin dropped 150 basis points.
