Agro-chemical firm Insecticides (India) has reported a more than five-fold jump in profit at Rs 5.38 crore for the quarter to December.
Its net profit stood at Rs 1.02 crore in the year-ago period.
Net income rose marginally to Rs 159.05 crore in the third quarter as against Rs 154.66 crore in the previous year, the company said in a statement.
In April-December of 2016-17, net profit increased to Rs 52.19 crore, from Rs 38.81 crore a year earlier.
Net income during April-December stood at Rs 931 crore as against Rs 810 crore previously.
"Figures have been encouraging as expected. Especially, profits have increased because of the new products launched this year. We look forward to bringing in more products next year to provide better range to farmers," Managing Director Rajesh Aggarwal said.
Insecticides (India) has formulation facilities in Chopanki (Rajasthan), Samba and Udhampur (Jammu & Kashmir) and Dahej (Gujarat).
