E-commerce firm Snapdeal sold 11 million units during its five-day festive season sale - 'Unbox Diwali', a top executive of the company said on Thursday, as the sale approached its conclusion. There has been a massive growth as compared to the previous festive sale, Tony Navin, Senior Vice President, Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives, Snapdeal told Moneycontrol.com.

He, however, declined to share the value of the goods sold. Snapdeal plans to begin another round of sales soon, Navin said declining to get into the specifics. Rival Amazon which concluded its sales a day before on Wednesday said it sold 15 million units. In terms of value, smartphones, consumer electronics and fashion remained the top three categories on Snapdeal. However, in terms of volume, fashion came first given its low ticket size, followed by home and mobile and electronics.   Snapdeal also said that this year, there has been a 20-fold jump in traffic coming from Tier 2, 3 towns on the platform. The company which claims to have about 300,000 sellers said that over 66,000 sellers sold at least one order during the sales period. Navin attributed the success of the sales to the rebranding exercise Snapdeal went ahead with in the last couple of months.

Snapdeal has spent Rs 200 crore on a 360-degree campaign in the run up to the Diwali festival. In September, the company unveiled a new logo and tagline, Unbox Zindagi.
