See overall credit growth picking up in banking system: Kotak Mahindra

In an interview to CNBC-TV18, KVS Manian, President-Corporate, Institutional & Investment Banking, Kotak Mahindra Bank, from the side lines of Kotak Institutional Equities - Chasing Growth Conference, spoke about the latest happenings in his bank and the sector.

Talking about PNB, he said we hope Punjab National Bank (PNB) situation doesn’t create inter-bank mistrust.

On sector front, he said we see overall credit growth picking up in banking system.

According to him, some public sector undertaking (PSU) banks are well organised.

Retail credit has been robust, corporate credit growth suffered in last few quarters, said Manian regarding business.

Margins will be under pressure in non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) due to higher costs of lending, he further mentioned about the sector.
