BMW launches X3, X5 models with petrol powertrains in India

The new BMW X3 xDrive28i and BMW X5 xDrive35i will be locally produced at the company's plant in Chennai. The models are now available across the country in both petrol as well as diesel variants.

German car maker BMW today launched its SUVs BMW X3 and BMW X5 with petrol engines in India, priced at Rs 54.9 lakh and Rs 73.5 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom Delhi).

The new BMW X3 xDrive28i and BMW X5 xDrive35i will be locally produced at the company's plant in Chennai. The models are now available across the country in both petrol as well as diesel variants.

"BMW petrol engines are a potent mixture of dynamics and efficiency, and with the launch of the new BMW X3 and new BMW X5 in petrol variants, we are offering our customers yet another form of sheer driving pleasure," BMW Group India President (Acting) Frank Schloeder said in a statement.

The company is presenting a significantly balanced and extremely aspirational product portfolio with the choice of both diesel and petrol variants to suit all customer requirements, he added.

"These latest generation of BMW engines guarantee a thrilling power delivery and excellent responsiveness which generates a dynamic proposition on the road and gives assured driving pleasure," Schloeder said.
