Affordable housing scheme extension is a positive move, says Gruh Finance

The big story is the likely stimulus by the government. The push for affordable housing continues with the government extending the interest subsidy on home loans under the affordable housing subvention scheme till March 2019.

In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Sudhin Choksey, MD of Gruh Finance spoke at length about the extension of affordable housing scheme and the latest happenings in the company.

Choksey said affordable housing scheme extension is a positive move.

Will see better performance of payments from government on this scheme, he said.

According to him, problem of supply side remains in the affordable housing finance.

"We are doing at least 25-30 percent more number of families to whom the subsidy can be given away," said Choksey.

Middle income group (MIG) will help government to show positive progress, he added.
