A fire broke out at a depot of state-run Indian Oil Corp and firefighters were trying to contain the blaze , police said on Tuesday.
The depot in Taloja outside Mumbai stored lube oil for packaging into containers but had no stocks of crude oil, a company official said.The fire was reported at around 1.30 am (2000 GMT) but the cause was not known, GC Daga, director for marketing, told Reuters."It is not spreading to new areas. In another two to three hours it will be fully under control," Daga said.No deaths were reported, police and Daga said.Daga could not provide an estimate of the losses from the fire or how much could have been destroyed.In November 2009, fire struck an IOC terminal in the northwestern city of Jaipur, killing at least six people.
