    Gold prices remained volatile on June 17 amid heightened tensions between Israel and Iran. Gold's August contracts on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) opened at Rs 98,902 per 10 grams today.

    Jateen Trivedi, VP Research Analyst of Commodity and Currency at LKP Securities, cited profit booking following reports of multiple potential trade deals between India-US, India-China, and US-Euro zones as the reason behind the fall in gold prices. "Going forward, market participants will remain focused on three key triggers: The upcoming US interest rate decision, Escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, and Progress on global trade negotiations," he said.

    Pranav Mer from JM Financial Services, said, "Gold prices are trading slightly lower on profit-booking; however the underlying momentum is expected to remains positive as safe-haven bids remain firm amid escalation in the Israel-Iran war and trade tariff related uncertainty. However, we may see some consolidation ahead key central bank meetings during the week with focus on U.S. Fed meeting on Wednesday."
