The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that it will continue to conduct special examinations at a later date for the students who are participating in international Olympiads, and national and international sports events.
This will also include those students whose examinations clash with their dates of Olympiads, and sports events including dates of the journey for the competitions, a circular issued by CBSE said.
However, the Olympiad should be recognised by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) and sports should be recognised by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI).

Students are advised to submit a request to their schools for special opportunities in the Board's Main Examinations. Schools will then submit the request to the SAI/ BCCI/ HBCSE to issue a certificate of participation and submit the same to CBSE’s regional office by December 31.
It is important to note that the provision of special exams is not available for compartment examinations.
